Hi walkington i put a post up yesterday about this some one helped me out and told me about the enabling v-sync in games but if the game is rage there is no option for this and loads of people conplaining about the games poor settings
high pitched noise but quite quiet still noticable comes out the sound on the monitor, screen flickers when playing games too on the witcher 2 and battlefield 3 beta.
On BF3 BETA the screen flicker i think most people are having so really i would not use that to base anything on, have you got uber sampling on witcher2 ? not played it myself but from what i have read on here from people that have is that no machine can run it that high so have you tried any other games ?
tried turning uber sampling off but stick faint screen flickering, lines running up and down maybe its monitor, hopefully ill borrow my mates monitor and can see if it helps, anyone know how to use asus osd mine looks like this one
Hey there, today i borrowed my friends monitor and tried that with all his cables, firstly we tried just plugging a vga cable into the monitor and the other end into the graphics card, the other end had an adapter on that was vga - dvi, so it could go into the computer, that still flickered on games.... So I used the other lead my friend had, it was a dvi - hdmi lead, i plugged the other dvi into the 2nd dvi port on the computer and the hdmi end into the pc, it worked! sound was good too, and the game didnt flicker even in ULTRA with uber sampling etc. So for some reason it had to have both in? as if i took out the vga and left the hdmi - dvi in there was no sound.
so whats needed
monitor-----gpu
vga-------dvi
hdmi-------dvi
audio in------audio in thing
my old monitor only had a vga port, sound jack and power, whereas my gpu had 2 x dvi ports, so does this explain why it didnt work before? does it need 2 wires for display? i tried different combinations with my friends monitor it needed both cables... for sound to work and display
