First-Time PC Build

Hi:) I'm building my first PC, I'd like it to be mostly for gaming, I do a little bit of streaming on the side so anything that would help improve the quality of this is a bonus. I've made this rough build (pasted below) and was basically just looking for advice as for whether or not its a spec that fits what I'd like to ask of it. My main game is Dead by Daylight if that's of any use. I don't play anything more resource intensive than that and probably never will lmfao.

My budget was between £750 and £1000, but would prefer to spend closer to £750 if I could.

Just to note, cheapest as possible in the HDD department as I'm transferring over 1x HDD and 1x SSD. If you have any Q's just lmk:)

At that budget you're better off getting a console as talking £1200 - £1500 for gaming rig

Heya! Think we should just about be able to do that for you (y)

Couple things- As Martin has said, for gaming performance you would probably be better off with a console and a nice monitor. However, I understand the appeal to having a PC. Also, if you're taking the HDD and SSD out of a PC that will no longer be used, there's a chance you'll be able to take the Windows licence too which will save you a good chunk of money which you can chuck towards this build!

Any questions, ask away!

Hey, thank you so much for taking the time to make both of your responses, it's been a great help. What would the benefits be for changing from an Intel to an AMD CPU? And would it be worth it in this situation in your opinion? I've only really had "experiences" with Intel CPUs before that's all. : )

The main two would be price (which wasn't actually as much as I was expecting) and where you get your drivers from 😂 Performance is pretty much neck and neck between the12400F and 5600. Considering the price difference isn't huge, I'd probably go for the intel system as we're guaranteed a new generation for that platform.

This video is about GPU scaling but does use the 5600 and 12400F:

I just quickly threw together this AMD-based PC and would appreciate some feedback if that's okay <3

You'll want to use the other configurator to access the full speed RAM among other things- this spec would be identical to the Intel one aside from the motherboard and CPU. Oh and the cooler as you're able to use the stock cooler for the 5600.
