First PC build

This will be my first gaming PC and I would like some advice please.

I am interested in gaming at 1440p/60 FPS+ and have put this build together. My budget is £2k and I am just under that! If more experienced gamers than myself could take a look at it for me that would be greatly appreciated. Something that I am a little unsure of is the motherboard, is it a good enough one. Thanks.

Ah ok, so I haven’t done too bad then out if the blocks.

The things that I wasn’t so sure on really were the motherboard and if I needed the cooler. Also, is the processor over kill or is it better to go for more power anyway? Cheers

That's a smashing first attempt to be honest. I would spend a little more in a few areas, namely the PSU & the Storage. As fast a primary as you can get would always be advantageous. Always good to have a fast secondary drive to house your games etc so that i fyou need to reformat or anything, you don't need to re-install everything.

Direct storage is coming to gaming as well, having a second channel for a direct link between the storage & the GPU will make a difference. If you feel you can push the boat out for the 530 for the 1TB secondary drive then this will only add to that. It's a bit more expensive though.

I've tried to trim the cooler where I could, as you don't need the elite offering..... but it's not much of a saving so a fine choice if it's what you want.
