With that budget, you can do a lot better. And I wouldn't buy a monitor from here. Much better options available elsewhere.

Assuming 1440p resolution with high frame rates?

I would suggest something like this...at £2600 which leaves you £600 for a monitor etc.

Don't think you'd need more than 16GB unless you plan on playing something like MS Flight Sim or other heavily modded games.

I can't comment on how quiet it would be. One of the true experts on here can probably answer that. 😁

Doesn’t really need a 3080 if aiming for 1440p (ASUS 3070 is much cheaper and 3060Ti cheaper still) and could benefit from a ROG STRIX 570 with the 5900x.

I have the ASUS® ROG STRIX X570-F GAMING paired with the 8GB ASUS ROG STRIX GEFORCE RTX 3070. However, my CPU is AMD Ryzen 7 5800X.

The graphics card doesn’t affect the motherboard recommendation. With a 5800x we usually spec a TUF X570, with a ROG STRIX X570 for the 5900x. The latter won’t be a problem with the 5800x, but isn’t essential.

Tweaked it a bit more with the suggestions you all chipped in, think this would be a good build?
Still willing to spend more if it means better cooling/performance.

After taking lots of suggestions off both forum pages and YouTube videos, I've made this build of a PC which I think would be best for a 1440p 144hz monitor whilst staying quiet and cool.
I'm hoping to game and stream, with possible VR in the future to just play about.
