First Gaming PC

Hi Everyone,

I am wanting to build a PC primarily for gaming. For playing games like COD warzone mainly. I also edit videos in 1440p from time to time.

Budget £2k. I currently have this monitor
www.currys.co.uk

ACER NITRO VG270UPBMIIPX QUAD HD 27" LCD GAMING MONITOR - BLACK

Quad HD 2560 x 1440p; Refresh rate: 144 Hz; Response time: 1 ms; Input: HDMI / DisplayPort; Built-in speakers; Can be wall mounted
www.currys.co.uk
www.currys.co.uk

https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/gaming-pc/

I would like to build so it will last a few years (GPU, RAM etc) and one that can be upgraded in the future if that is possible.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions or advice.

Tom

Hi, the budget can be a little flexible. I forgot to say that the budget is £2k without VAT. So whatever that works out to. Does that help? Thanks

That looks brilliant thank you. I do some video editing from time to time, will this build work well for that too? Also would it be worth adding more RAM if the money is there? Thanks for your help

32GB of RAM would definitely help with video editing and the 8GB of VRAM on the 3070Ti should allow you to comfortably edit 4K video so this build would work. The 5900x would be ideal but that would start drastically driving the cost up

At hobbyist level video editing, the 5800X will perform very admirably. We’ve got forum members editing on six core chips so unless you’re a pro, I think the 5900X is potentially a bit overkill. Definitely with you on the 32GB of RAM, though 👍

Hi, just a quick question. Do you know if it will come with a display port as this is currently what I use to hook up to my monitor rather than hdmi. Or do you have to specify? Thanks

Without knowing the exact model and manufacturer, it's hard to say, but it will probably come with three DP 1.4 ports and one HDMI 2.1 port. It will not come with cables unless you specifically order them.
