The budget is a little in the middle unfortunately. For 1080p the 7700X is over-powered, but for 1440p it's probably under-powered if you want to keep the frames up. The 7600XT is the ideal option for 1080p with the 7800XT being the ideal option for 1440p.

I've tweaked a few other areas as well, that I would recommend.

I noticed that you selected a DVI cable, you would be far better off with a DP cable. Unsure why you have selected this?

1080p below:

Appreciate your reply thank you @Scott

if I was to go ahead with the 1440p build with the view of upgrading the monitor later down the line to a 1440p. Would this create a huge bottleneck? Or would I be ok?

Will change the DVI cable for a DP cable, good spot thank you!

It's not so much a bottleneck. It's just not a good use of the GPU power. It would depend on how long before you are upgrading the monitor. The monitor and GPU should always go hand in hand so I would have 2 mindsets:

1080p now - 1440p later..... save the money and get the 1080p specific build. Save up for both a new GPU & a monitor. Purchase both at the same time, that way you get a hand in hand upgrade with the latest and greatest technology/pricing.

1440p now - Go with the 1440p build but be looking to update the monitor in the next month or 2.

You'll get no real benefit from the 1440p build until you upgrade the monitor. If this point was further down the line, there will be better 1440p cards out for the same money that you could have saved towards.... hence why it's a bit of a waste.

Makes sense!

Appreciate your help @Scott - thank you mate! I will go forward with the 1080p build for now.

Once I’ve gone through with the purchase, it just gets delivered, pre built, good to go I assume?

There are some checks to do, put it through its paces etc.... but yes, after the initial configuration you're good to go.

Good little collection of info here:
