First Gaming PC Advice

Hi guys, just wondering if these specs all check out for my first gaming PC? Wanna do it properly without cheaping out aha. Hoping to play games like GTA V, Arma III and Skyrim, modded too (if that makes any difference lol) Also, would a 1080p monitor like this be able to manage 1440p? And would it be worth getting a SSD as well as a HDD? Cheers all!

Hey, thank you for the advice!
I’ve changed my mind on the 1440p monitor, was a little confused haha, probably going to go with a regular 1080p just with a higher frame rate. I’ve changed the specs based on what you said, the case, RAM and GPU, I’ll post it below;

I’m trying not to go for an SSD, because it pushes my budget a little more (budget being £900 just for desktop) and I’ve heard it’s not necessary if you already have a HDD as your primary? Not sure if this is true though of course...

Upgraded my GPU from a 1660 Super to a 1660 TI, and my RAM from 8gb to 16gb, is this overkill for my first PC or just about right?

And do you think my power supply is suitable?

Gotcha, yeah that quote looks great, despite being a little more price wise, though I’m sure it’s worth it long term. Do you have any personal experience with these kinds of specs? And if so what kind of games work well? Hoping to mod out some games too, if that makes any difference lol. The only other thing I’d be using it for is web browsing so I wouldn’t take up too much storage. But yeah this looks like a strong spec, thank you again!

I would strongly advise going with the 750w RMx PSU, as already suggested. It would make a huge difference to future potential and replacing the PSU isn't the nicest of jobs. With the 750w you could be comfortable powering anything right up to 3070 power levels in the future. Given that a PSU should easily last 10+ years it's a worthwhile investment to spend wisely once, rather than save money now and end up buying twice.

I have a similar spec system albeit with a better GPU and it works really well for everything I use it for...at one time I would be running a game, Firefox with 2 separate tabs running 2 people's streams (on different streaming services) as well as Discord and CPU usage was very low.

To be honest, most games will work well on it. Those games even modded should run well on it depending on how much CPU power they will need...the advantage to the above is you can slot in a CPU from the next generation without any trouble if you needed a more powerful CPU. For your budget, you won't get anything better than that spec

Sounds amazing, in that case this is probably the sort of thing I’ll be going for once I get a little bit more money together, I’ll be buying a semi cheap monitor elsewhere but for now I think this would be the perfect choice for a first PC without cheaping out and then regretting it later, thanks once again for all your help! 🙏🙏🙏

Ah okay, 10 years is a hell of a long time so that sounds brilliant to me, even if it means going a little above and beyond my budget 😖 haha oh well! Thanks for the tip!
