First Built PC Spec, advice appreciated

Hi everyone, first post here after looking to invest in a decent PC now that working from home is becoming more of a thing (although probably very late to the party now...!).

I am looking to build a PC mainly for use in Architecture and 3D Visualisation purposes. I use a lot of AUtodesk, Lumion, Twinmotion, Enscape etc on a daily basis as well as the typical Adobe suite and need something that is going to be powerful enough to run these without causing me issues.

The main thing I think is the Graphics Card, with the emergence of Ray Tracing in our field having an RTX card is becoming pretty much the standard now.

My budget is realistically £1000 however this build is slightly over this so any advice is appreciated...

There's a lot of things about this build that I wouldn't be happy with but I'm sure you made the compromises with budget in mind.

The motherboard is an old generation and soon to be obsolete, the ram is slow compared the new standard, the PSU is really really light making upgrades close to impossible and the CPU cooler is suspect.

I just wouldn't recommend the above build, give me a few mins and I'll see what I can come up with

Thank you Steve I appreciate it!
When going through with this spec it asks whether I would want the OS on the SSD or not. Is this something I should do, what do you think?

OS should always go on the fastest drive, that's what I included the M2 drive for. This is basically for your OS and maybe one program that's especially heavy on load/reading/rendering times

Is the OS required? Just noting on your build its not listed?

Ditto on the above build. Would fit your needs nicely, but clearly you are way past budget. Unfortunately the 3000 series cards are very expensive, as is anything even resembling RTX nowadays.

With that being said, the system is solid and will do many years. You have an upgrade path available to you should you wish to add to the build in the future, everything supports it. There are a couple of things you can consider though:

If you change to the B550 Gaming Wifi edition, you can drop the separate Wifi card. It's the same standard of Wifi so no real difference but you will save a couple of quid and it will remove an item from the case allowing more airflow.

I wouldn't bother with the rear fan either as the 240 has your exhaust covered.

As it's going to be for professional use I would personally recommend upgrading to the RMx PSU. It's more money again but you get a more premium PSU with more premium components, better warranty and it's silent most of the time. It just runs better. The lowest wattage one available will be fine. Anything around the 600w mark is considered future proof at this level.

Hey! I went through a spec last week for a new machine and now this week the same spec is more money? Any ideas why this might be? Supply and Demand?

Supply and Demand?
Pretty much, with the new 30 series cards, there's super high demand but super low supply meaning prices are all over the place. I watched a £1,300 build turn into a £1,400 build in less than 24 hours today. If you have the spec saved then you might be able to call PCS and I've heard they should honour the price. As I haven't done it myself I can't confirm or deny, but might be worth a try.

That said the phone lines are very busy (multiple hour waits for some people) Best chance of getting to them quickly is calling when they open at 9AM Mon-Sat

Looks like I am in a position to order the below (fairly similar to the above). The one thing I am unsure about it what connections at the rear there are for monitors? At the moment my dual Dell monitors use Display Port cables so would want something to compliment that? Any thoughts?

I would increase the RAM speed, drop bullguard and opt for the silver warranty. Otherwise it looks pretty good. Any reason for the case choice? PCS options are often very budget.

Which would you suggest for RAM out of interest? Thanks for the heads up on the Silver Warranty, well worth the extra £'s. No reason for the case, budget really!
In terms of budget, honestly spend a few more £ for the Lian Li Lancool 215 - it will be well worth it
Thanks, fits well into my budget!

3200mhz or 3600mhz. The faster the RAM, the faster the system will perform overall. Any lower and you're holding the system back with AMD.
