Just a question i would like to ask for my own interest, does streaming from your pc to your living room tv use your internet connection (i.e download/upload usage//bandwich or w.e)?

Nope, internet traffic only counts for stuff coming down the phone line. As long as your pc is on the same network then you wont use any internet traffic.

The best way to know, is for example, if you disconnected your internet from the phone socket, would the streaming still work? The answer is yes, so it doesnt use any bandwidth :)

Not sure If you mean streaming from the internet,as in from you tube, bbc i player or whatever, through your pc to your tv,if so it certainly will build up your bandwidth usage.
but if it's not through the internet, then no.

Only comment I've got about this pc is, I think you've got the wrong delivery address, change to my address and it'll be alright. :)
Wish I had £2400 to spend on a PC!

PC now ordered and I'm so excited I can't sleep in anticipation.

I do have one question though. When the computer arrives I will want to set it in SLI mode? I will be running two monitors, so will i need one dvi-d cable from each card going to the two monitors? Or will i need the 2 cables to run from one card to the monitors?

Thanks.

They should be all set up ready to go but no harm in checking when you get the system you will probably have to open the side panel to remove the packing foam and you might need to connect the side fan if there is 1 fitted so you can just have a check to make sure nothing is hanging loose.

oh god that sounds complicated? knowing little about computers and even less about the inside of them how will I know what to look for and where to connect with regards to the fans and cards?

Don't panic it's nothing complicated if you get stuck with anything when you get it just post on the forums and if your not sure about some thing then just post a picture and someone will help you out.

ok brilliant thanks. One last thing I promise. I've been reading various topics in the forums and noticed a lot of people talking about video card/gpu temps etc. Will I need certain software installed to measure this and what temps should i be worried about. I'm a little concerned after slotting a soundblaster sound card in along with two 3gb 580gtx's?

Now ordered and amendments made, I'm now considering the case.

I notice the coolmaster haf-x is slightly bigger, would it be better in terms of cooling and airflow with that spec.

Order is in pre-production, will it delay order if i change now?

thanks.

Frenchy will be best answering about the temps on sli 580's as he has them but my single has been up to 73C so i would expect your top card to run 10C-15C hotter than that it all depends on the airflow in the case and the ambient room temperature, for monitoring the temps you can D/L a program from the nvidia website "system monitor" and just select what monitors you want it to run this is the program i use but others on here use different programs i am sure they will post them up.

ta daaa Frenchy has arrived.

SLI 580 can get pretty hot, ive had cards up to about 85 on one and about 75 on other, as Fear said the one card will always run hotter, but those temps were after playing for quite a while on 3 screens maxed out.

Generally they dont go above 80.

Ok so it sounds like I do need to get the best case in terms of airflow. So would you recommend I up to the haf-x or will the raven be ok?

Any more advice on this before I ring up tomorrow?

Best case for air flow and cooling 2x 3gb 580 gtxs? Coolmaster Haf-x or the silverstone raven rv03 that I have currently ordered?

thanks

Everyone will have their own preference for the cases but with having a Haf-X and seeing all the free space around the case for the airflow i would say to go for that.

Is it easy to add extra fans if needed? Do PC specialist add extra fans on request?

Think i'm gonna ring and change to haf-x tomorrow!
