Fan noise

THANKS GUYS - Have run the ASUS utility and the fan has backed off to a mere purr. Appreciate the cracking advice and shame on me for not using the hive mind when it came to case selection. I will stick the new case fan in that I have ordered just because - well I ordered it now. PC runs so quickly -windows benchmarks are great with the lowest being 7.9 (gpu) - 8.2 (cpu).

CHEERS AGAIN

*Fills tank up, treks to brighton* Economically not so smart but a free drinks a free drink!

What I would suggest is keeping an eye on your CPU and Mobo temps using Fan Xpert and then download a separate program for your GPU. I've recently downloaded MSI afterburner which lets you set your own custom temperature file for your GPU. Also has really informative information about your current temps and fan speeds.

See how you get on and then decide whether you need a new case or not!

Have just got a contract to build a website, iPhone app for a restaurant chain in Sussex so when that money comes in then I will look at maybe building a purely gaming experience machine. Believe me I will be picking more brains next time. Bioshock has almost downloaded and shouldn't put to much strain on. I know I am a bit of a soft gamer - gotta start somewhere, lol

I've watched so many. The next generation used to be on tv just as we ate our tea, parents loved it...we all used to play the game who can say 'Space...' at the right time on the opening credits, harder than you think...we were losers! lol

a little window into my life for you there!

You could also seek help on the forum if you get stuck but as long as you ground yourself and you remember where everything goes it should be fine. What temps do you get when gaming?

Thanks GM Keynes - I will be passing everything through the forums in future. Really impressed with the help I got and have learnt a thing or two..

Ha just noticed the Amiga floppy - the first machine I animated on was an Amiga 500 (I think). 8 or 16 bits of raw power...ha ha..

Hi Guys,

I've had my PC for about 4 months, no issues at all. However, yesterday out of the blue. It started making an extremely loud noise like a hoover. I took off the side panel to see which of the fans was guilty of the noise and it is one of my graphics cards. The temperature in my room is slightly warm but nowhere near enough for the fan to be going at the speed it is. How do I get it to slow down a bit? I went into my BIOS settings but couldn't see any options for my graphics card fan. I'd appreciate some advice? Specs below:

Hi Chrisflev, it would probably be best if you post your own thread within this section

but that is quite a high end spec with two gpu's, so it would be normal for the cards to get warmer than usual. Especially with the recent weather.

As said, post up a separate thread and we'll see what we can do :)
