Error 97: Load VGA Bios

Hi. I've just received my PC back from a 2nd RMA (First time the GPU died, 2nd time it was smashed in transit) and I cannot get the PC to show a display.

It shows error code 97 load VGA bios. I've reseated the gpu and reseated the RAM but nothing works. The technician said it worked when he shipped it out but I haven't even been able to get it to properly boot up once so now I have my doubts.

I've now had to open a 3rd RMA and this whole ordeal is giving me a massive headache.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It's worth first disconnecting any USB peripherals, anything at all plugged into the machine including keyboard and mouse, and then reset CMOS and see if it boots without anything plugged in

I reset my CMOS a couple of times but it didn't work. It still shows the same error code

Sorry I should've elaborated. The PCIE cables can't be extended any lower so although there are 2 more slots in the PC I wouldn't be able to connect it.
You'd need to free them from the cable management at the other side of the case.

It's just a test to see if the card will work in another slot, hence the motherboard has a faulty port, or it points to the card being an issue.

If you're not comfortable doing that, then you can check the PSU cables back to the PSU from the GPU, make sure they're fully inserted.

Sorry to ask, but you've definitely got the monitor plugged into the GPU and not the motherboard?

The back panel is on very tight. I'm afraid I will break it if I try to pull on it too hard.

And yeah, it's directly plugged into the GPU.

There's not much we do then I'm afraid.
I managed to get it removed. Didn't realise there was a tiny screw holding it in place. I looked at the PSU cables and it's connected properly. No idea why I'm getting a VGA error. They are picking it up on Tuesday so I'll just have to wait and see.

Has this been recently received? I only ask as it's an extremely old platform and massively superseded by modern options. An AMD build would offer far more value/performance. It may be a blessing in disguise if youre within the 14 day return period.

Think it's a year old, but cancelling the order was suggested before purchase, unfortunately not followed.
