Sorry my man, can you explain to me what optimus technology is, and if its not supported what will the difference in performance be, is it purely relating to battery life?

Optimus technology is an Nvidia technology. It enables the Nvidia GPU to be turned off and the Intel GPU to be used instead, saving battery life at the cost of performance. However, for general use you will not notice the difference between the Nvidia GPU and the Intel GPU:

Bluetooth Removed And Replaced?

Just noticed the integrated bluetooth has been removed and instead a new network card including bluetooth has been introduced. Was there a problem?

All orders will be getting the Bluetooth + WIFI combined adapter, as the two separate adapters didn't work together on the HM65 chipset. You won't notice any difference whatsoever. :)

Just a quick question (Save me opening another thread)
The build page does say the 540m is a GT version, but you said it isn't. Can you confirm which version of the 540m the lappies use?

I wasn't thinking straight when I posted last time :)

It's a GT 540M. For some reason when I read the review it was written as 540M GT and I thought it was some sort of overclocked version, rather than just realising that the person who wrote the review had written it the other way round.

All being well yes. This last week the average dispatch time for notebooks has been 10.73 days from process date to ship date. Please note though this is the average, some are quicker and some are slower.

Welcome to our forums :)

1. After a quick search of Google, the 3D mark Vantage benchmarks are as follows: 540M GT: 3498 vs 460M: 6721 - roughly 92% faster, and the 540M we supply is not a GT version.

2. Many modern games can take advantage of 4 cores, and for other applications it all depends on how the program was written. Generally 4 cores are better than two, and certainly for the future.

3. Yes - and we also provide a Welcome Pack detailing exactly how to install the OS in case you need assistance.

4. Providing the drivers are installeed correctly nvidia Optimus technology should work trouble free. We've not experienced any problems in the past.

5. Consider the Optimus II, which is also a great laptop for gaming and multi-tasking.

The spec you've suggested will be very good. Without choosing an SSD drive, there's not much opportunity for improvement here.

Was thinking of buying this configuration, until point 1. On your config page, it says the Graphics Card
"nVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M - 2GB DDR3 Video RAM - DirectX® 11". Isn't that the GT model? Plus I didn't think they did a non-GT model this high up the range?
is this it as well btw: http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-540M.41715.0.html

Thanks for your time!

Is there a heating "problem" with the laptop or how hot does it get... is it excessive?
How is the screen like now as it has now been changed to a matte screen...
and
A is the graphics card a dedicated graphics card because I heard they were better than a normal built in graphics card

i have had this laptop for 2 days and for 2 days i have been playing shogun 2 total war. the graphics card is good enough to run the highest setting.
i have barely noticed any heat from the laptop which contrasts with what i read in another thread on this forum. also the laptop is relatively quiet, especially when i compare it to my 360 which sounds like a spaceship.
i dunno what to say about the screen other than its crystal clear.
the graphics card has 2gb of dedicated memory, which is a lot.
i reckon the case looks pretty sweet, there are some pictures and a video on the website.
hope that helps.
