I'd suggest that you take a read of this, it explains why intel are a very bad idea, and why AMD are way better

I would change a fair bit to be honest mate, Revit is fairly demanding too I build the computers here the office that we would use Revit heavily on

I did a build we were using for trainee's about a year ago that's still rattling away. I'll see if I can get something similar

This is close to what I built for the trainee's. One note the only problems we've run into is using Revit on machines with less than 32GB of RAM. You really want 32GB minimum and fast RAM at that. This is what I would recommend

I'm assuming you'll be running 3D models so a high capacity SSD really helps with performance while moving around the models so I've included for a 2TB Sata SSD, someone else may be able to help with a better storage set up though.

The computer is really only going to be running Revit for pre university projects and practise, so really just wanted a more all round PC able to do some gaming and school work. Still not sure that the Ryzen CPU will be better for my intended use.

Well the Ryzen CPU's are better than the Intel CPU's in pretty much every metric at the minute especially if you can stretch the budget to a current gen Ryzen

If you're running Revit though it will be the most specialised program you'll be running outside of games so it's important to meet it's requirements first in my opinion. A build that's effective with Revit will generally have a good base for gaming as well hence my above selections

All we can do is offer advice though, your money at the end of the day but above is what I would recommend.

Would this be a better build although slightly more expensive I can just about stretch to it, but I can't stretch it any more.

There's a bunch of changes I'd make. First, get a better case. The Fractal Meshify C is a good bet. I'd downgrade to the 3600 as there's little performance difference, and I'd lose the RGB RAM as it has no performance benefit. For storage, I'd go to a 500GB 970 and a 1TB hard drive instead: there's really little point to the SATA SSD. If you want to cut costs further, you could go for the 512GB PCS M.2 drive. I'd also leave the cooler as the stock one rather than the upgraded one (it's fine for the 3600) and lose the thermal paste and the extra case fans. Finally, I'd upgrade the power supply to at least the TXm 750W, and ideally the RMx 850W, and lose the Bullguard antivirus.

You'd end up with a system that's as good as you can afford right now and can also be upgraded in the future.

So definitely the Ryzen over the intel. I need the RGB RAM as this is the minimum for REVIT.

Have you got any links to that? RGB RAM has no basis on software...... unless you are programming the RGB lights..... but that wouldn't be REVIT.

16GB of 3200MHz RAM is almost certainly what you need. The RGB is just the flashing lights on top. They don't detract from performance (in any meaningful way) but (sorry @AgentCooper) they don't actually add to it either, so you're just spending money on flashing lights.

Now, I'm not opposed to flashing lights (you should see my computer...) but if we're cutting costs...
