Does this build seem compatible or are there things that need improving?

Forgive me if these are stupid questions but how come you have chosen the ASUS TUF x570-PLUS motherboard rather than the previous ASUS ROG STRIX Z570-F (which was under the "Recommended For Gaming" section?

Also, is there a reason for not getting the ARTIC MX-4 EXTREME THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY COMPOUND instead of the STANDARD THERMAL PASTE?

To come within your budget you could step back to the 3070 and drop the RAM back to 16GB (few games need more than this)..

There is not a WiFi version of the ROG STRIX X570 (which we normally recommend for the 5900x) on PCS and our favourite WiFi card (Intel AX200) has disappeared from the site. I suspect that is the rationale behind the motherboard. The Corsair coolers come with high quality paste pre-applied, so don’t need the Arctic paste.

The motherboard was probably budgetary reasons

The arctic paste isn't required as the corsair coolers come pre applied with premium paste

The X570 TUF is perfectly fine for the 5800x. I'd generally recommend the STRIXX when stepping up to the 5900x

Also the X570 TUF comes with the AX200 Wifi card which is a nice plus.

Others answered the paste question pretty good

Ideally the 3070 would suit you best and let you make a massive saving over the 3080 but it's not available at the minute unfortunately

The 3080 is now on pre-order, so is in a similar position to the 3070

My eyes must be failing. I could swear there was a 5900x in the build 🤓

Worth noting the ASUS Turbo is a blower style card so temps might not be great with it and not something I'd personally pay the "ASUS tax" for. If OP can wait for the 'normal' 3070, I'd suggest doing that over anything else. Plus, the 3070 price wouldn't have been adjusted in ages so it might fall once it becomes available again putting a bigger split between it and the Turbo

It isn’t the ASUS Turbo in the build, but he Dual That was much more expensive. There is always the option to wait, but who knows what will happen to prices?
