About 30 mins into playing RDR2 (and only 8 hours into the game as a whole), my PC suddenly switched itself off. On reboot, the graphics card was dead. Everything else was fine. Swapped out the graphics card and is all is good.
The graphics card was a GTX 970. It was just over four years old. And was within the minimum spec recommended by Rockstar. And I was using the NVIDIA recommended settings.
I have now replaced it with another (second hand) GTX 970, but am wary to restart playing RDR2. Was it just random chance that the graphics card died in the middle of a game ... or can game kill a graphics card?
