Desktop ports not accessible - faulty build?

Hello. Took delivery of a new desktop a couple of days ago. The plastic template which covers the ports on the back is misaligned, so I can't plug most of the peripherals in. HDMI socket is completely inaccessible, how could this have passed QC??!
Please advise on what I should do, is there an easy fix I can do or should I return it? Not very impressed so far.

There was someone a while back who saw the DPD driver drop the box with his rig in. They are well packed but a drop like that could cause it.

Agree with Nursemorph, open the case and have a look. PCS have an open case policy so it will not void your warranty.

I doubt that it went through QC like that (not saying it isn't a possibility, just unlikely)...most likely something has shifted in transit. Having said that, it's not the first time we have seen this on here recently.

I would open up both sides of the case and look at the motherboard and make sure it looks like it's secured properly...the I/O plate can't really shift so, to my mind, it looks like the motherboard hasn't been fully secured to the chassis (even a single screw could do it) and it's shifted during transit

Unfortunately, I cannot tell you exactly where to look as motherboard fixings aren't in my knowledge base
Thanks.
I have opened both sides and had a good look. There doesn't seem to be any play in the motherboard position, it feels quite secure, just not aligned with the holes for the ports. It isn't obvious to me what to try so I'd rather leave it than risk my refund. I have reported it to the email address in parallel. I tried the phone support line but it said it would be a 50 minute wait.

I should add that the packing box was completely undamaged, so I don't think it had been dropped.

Think that is the best you can do. Unfortunately emails can take a week at the moment with current situation. If you want to phone again the best time is 09:00 as they open.

Just try gently edging the backplate away from the motherboard ports and see if it Marrys up, this can happen in transit.

Looking at the picture though its hard to tell as its a close up, it looks more like the backplate is the problem more than any motherboard issue.
Does the backplate look like its aligned properly compared to the rest of the back of case?

Are the MB's screws all still in a secure?

Thanks for all the comments. I have finally heard from PCS, and they are asking me to send the machine back. They say it must have happened in transit and wouldn't have passed QC like that. Hopefully it won't take too long. It's frustrating that the timer on the warranty and insurance began before I even received the pc in the first place.

Surely warranty/insurance should only commence on delivery?

PCS T&Cs (section 7.1) state the warranty commences on supply - so I would take that to mean delivery, not purchase date!

It was activated when they despatched it, 2 days before I received it, and as it is faulty who knows how long it wiybe before I'm actually using the thing. Should have gone to Currys!
