Desktop for photo editing and office help

Hi, I'm looking for some advice on putting together a new PC. I've no intention of gaming on it, mainly photo editing RAW files, and office type stuff often with lots of tabs open. I'm planning 2 monitors, one my old AOC HD monitor, the other a LG 4k monitor if that works. LG is the LG 27UL500 W refresh rate 60hz. Two monitors mainly for extra space for office stuff, 4k monitor so my photos look nice when editing.

The photo software I use (Dxophotolab 4) recommends a minimum 1060 nvidia card but I'd like to future proof, my last PCS computer has lasted 7 years, hoping for a similar life span! So the question is, does this look OK or how should I tweak it? Any advice greatly appreciated. My budget for both PC and monitor is £2000.

Very good effort, I'm unable to post a spec but will list a few bits to change:

Change the processor for the 5800x when available on 5/11

Change 1st storage drive to 7200rpm HDD, no benefit to SSD for storage

Update the 1st M2 drive to Samsung 980 Pro

Up the PSU to 750W RMx, allows for GPU upgrades should you wish to in the future. Also semi passive so fans only kick in under severe load so much quieter.

Up the cooler to the Cooler Master 240mm


Both those monitors will be fine on this system. Just double check, the card only has 1 HDMI, so you may need to use a DP for the 4k monitor.

That’s really helpful, thanks. Re the storage drive, I’d read the ssd was less prone to failure than a hdd, is that not the case? Also was assuming there’d be some speed gain, but I assume not or if there is it’s marginal from what you’ve said?

I couldn’t easily find a graphic card with 2 hdmi ports if one even exists (just curious really)? But using 2 different cables isn’t an issue.

Thanks once again for the helpful advice, I very much appreciate the folks who are giving up their time to contribute to this forum.

My build is now as shown below (will replace with 5800 when I can). I have a couple of other questions, if that's OK? Is there a great deal of difference between the iron wolf pro and regular seagate drive? Still swithering about an SSD for second drive as my photo library is large-ish - around 750 GB and can take a while to load photos into photolab when I start it, will an SSD speed that up, or are the delays loading in the photos more likely related to my current CPU/memory?

My only other (and hopefully final) query is around the recommendation for a liquid cooler, I've never had a PC with one before, this is probably a daft question, but to my fairly non tech mind, liquids and PCs shouldn't mix, do I need to do anything to maintain/monitor the cooler and is I'm really not technical would I then be better going for a non liquid one, or is that really a non issue? I mean, I'm assuming PCS don't sell something will destroy my PC!

Sorry to ask again, but going to order and it appears the fractal focus g case is no longer available. Can anyone suggest a reasonable alternative?
