Dell XPS or PC Specialist Enigma ???? Help Please

I looked at the Dell XPS and AlienWare stuff before going with PCS and one thing I could never figure out on Dell's 'self-configuration' system is why going from 4GB of memory to 8GB of memory costs £330. Is it gold-plated or somesuch?

All of Dell's basic builds look like good value because you think you will be able to afford to upgrade, but it is shockingly expensive to do so.

Right i'm looking at going with the following, not in any real rush, are there any benefits in hanging on until the new year ??????

Let me know what you think please

Cheers

Nice spec! :)

There will be some new processors launched in 2011, but this may be February/March before stock comes through. Only downside is there's 20% VAT to pay... :(

However, dont forget this is only +2.5% on what we're already paying :D and that prices of other components in your build should fall by the time the new goodies release.
