It's a lot of money to spend on a pc with new products arriving soon. I ordered mine , went over budget because I was hyped up getting a really good build but like reading that You ordered on the 24th (11days before me) and yours still in pre production is like a major disappointment lol

Looks good, I would swap out the 500GB firecuda for the 970 evo though (faster writes), drop the Acrtic paste as the Corsair stuff is fantastic and also if you need wireless I would bump up the card to the AX200, the stock one isn't that good.

.

I ordered on the 24th and was just told I'm 130th in the queue if that's of any use to you, though I'm not sure how many orders they're getting through per day at the moment!

Disclaimer: I am aware of COVID-19 PSU, MOBO and other general shortages. None of my parts were out of stock on day of purchase. My complaint is that on the day of purchase PC SPecialist would've known they had 20+ Days of PC's ahead of me, and should've told me that, not lie to me about average build times which were weeks old.

Hello all,

Just a quick warning to not believe or go by any estimates build times on the website.

I ordered my PC on 24th May with a 12-14 Day dispatch estimate.
I am now on Working Day 20- Still in Pre-Production.
I have watched every day the Average Day to Dispatch time increase from 14 Days to now 25 Days and it rises every day.

Unfortunately, with finance agreements you only have 14 days to cancel, so by the time I was past the Average dates I was well past my ability to refund.

I have contacted support last week and was told my build was planned to be built on Wednesday just past, it's now Friday and not build so I won't likely be recieving my PC at the end of the next week or later, over 1 Calender Month after purchase.

COVID Aside, PCSpecialist would've been aware they had an uptick of orders and could've clearly advertised much more realistic build times in stead of using out of date information aggregated weeks prior to my order.

Browsing the forums I feel bad for anyone who ordered after me.

Baring in mind I have 12 Months to pay off the remaining balance to prevent interest, I am now making monthly payments on something I do not even have!

I haven't had any contact from PCSpecialist despite emailing me on Day 1 of Pre-Production saying my PC was on track to be dispatched within 12-14 Days.

I heavily suggest not ordering any PC's from probably anywhere right now.

I totally concr with your view. Honesty is the best policy. TheCovid situation has been her now for over 2 months before you placed your order, so he expectations of delivery timescales should have been correct at that time. I feel sorry for you pal, and am in the same boat.

But that’s my point, why do you assume that an estimation should lead to a concrete delivery date when all the advice from people on this forum, from the emails sent from PCS, from the notice put up on the home page, they all clearly state that there are delays.

Your expectations during a worldwide pandemic are unrealistic to be frank.

Everyone is in the same boat.

Claiming that they’re “misleading people” is just not fair. Saying something like “the estimates are a bit off” would be rational.
Change the information on the website and during the order process to tell potential customers the actual delivery dates, that is all ia asked to happen???????
Pandemic or no pandemic, they know how many orders behid they are today, so shoul be able to tell everyone today when they should expect their delivery. Someone has just posted that they are still 130th in the queue and placed the order on 24th May!

Someone said they were building orders placed on the 24th but he's still 130 in queue .
Do you think they just lying to us all at this point? I've been told 3rd of July for mine, so with everyone else delay it could be another 1-2 weeks after this

As we’ve said previously, you’re completely allowed to rant, but it’s not ok to bash PCS. If there’s a nother accusation of lying or purposefully misleading customers then this thread will be locked and a few people will be banned.

My point is about the website telling people the realistic timescales at time of order, I do not think they are lying, when i spoke to one of the individuals there today, i felt he was being honest with me.

i really do feel like we have been duped into placing the order.

Tell the customers the truth
Certainly don't mislead them.
i really do feel like we have been duped into placing the order.
And that is the reason that they are misdleading us

And that's leaving out a fair few.....

It's a pain when everything is in black and white and you can't retract it ;)

I feel cheated on the order process ,because I asked the build time and was told 14-16 days with a screenshot provided from customer support.
Now I'm on 12 days I'm told 25 days+
Sorry but I feel like I was lied to In the 14-16 message as they would of know there's over 130 orders atleast ahead of me

I totally understand your frustration, believe me I do. Unfortunately this is one of the issues with automated statistical estimation.

The most obvious example of what is going on I can give relates to sat nav. I could leave my work with my phone telling me I'm 35 minutes away as I start my journey. During that journey the traffic builds up as it's approaching rush-hour. As I progress through the traffic the time actually starts to increase and 10 minutes into my journey I'm now being told 40 minutes. This continues to increase as the congestion increases until I finally get past the bottle neck and normal service is resumed.

This is basically what is happening across the globe right now. The estimate at the start of the journey is based on a snapshot in time. As time goes on, things get worse hence why the estimations continue to grow. As stated, this is automated so it doesn't have the smarts to just future project based on knowing that the world is going to pot.

Now, with that all being said I think PCS should consider ditching the estimation altogether right now, and just put out a blanket target that they are aiming for. The automated element is just adding frustration for people and the world is cauldron on its own right now anyway.

I have no idea how many PCs they build in a day but I've seen pictures of their assembly warehouse and it's pretty bloody big. 130 sounds like a big number to us but for a company the size of PCS probably not so much.

130 would be very easy for them to handle IMO. That's not a problem during normal circumstances. You're failing to recognise that things have continually gotten worse since your order was placed. There was no way to foresee the deliveries not making it or the stock not being available. The estimate would be purely based on labour capacity and the assumption that the parts would be getting delivered on time.

fact is lots of people want new machines, and right now they can't have as many people building as they normally would because of the 2m rule and supply chains are strained.
There are off the peg machines available faster but if you're ordering a custom PC I think you'll find it pretty unlikely to get one delivered quicker anywhere at the moment

Update for you all.
I ordered on the 24th May as above. I am on WD 20.

I called up after my post and cancelled my order, I was given the following ETA: I was told that my PC likely wouldn't go in to build until Wed/Thurs next week, (WD 23/24) and then wouldn't be ready for dispatch until the following Monday at the earliest (WD 26) And if I was lucky I would recieve it by Friday 3rd July (WD 31).

So 31 Working Days and 40 Days from day of purchase.

Very nice and helpful Customer Service rep let me cancel my order without hesitation with full refund no questions asked.

I will order again in some months when the world is normal and new hardware is out.

So everyone who has ordered, beware a possible 30+ Working Day turn around!

Seems crazy that the working times have slipped so much so quickly - like just in the last fortnight - 30+ WDs now from what was just over 10 at end of May according to their actual stats??

The last email i got last Friday said they were up to 15-18 days average to dispatch. There must be a stock issue or something rather than the working practices given they've been operating that way for the last three months or whatever but then most things seem to be in stock / or obtainable according to the configurators. Quite concerning how exponentially these wait times are increasing...

That virus we've been living with since January? Think you'll find R below 1 - doesnt explain why the delays increasing so much when everyone says theyre being told they have the build items in stock

Thanks for your input.
