Hello !

I just received the new defiance VII. The chassis is in aluminium, but there is space between the bottom cover and the rest. What do you think about this ? Is it normal ? :)

I have to push hard to plug jack or usb, maybe because not totaly in front of the ports. Also, the edges are very sharp to the touch

Also one of the two radiator seems not to be in front of the exit. I don't know if it's me or if there is an issue with the chassis.

It appears a little strange as alignment.
Is that the 15" inches model?
When approx have you made your order?

Yes this is the 15 inches. I ordered it the 17/06/2020 and just received it today.

The build seems very aproximative and I'm very disappointed about it. Because of that, it look very cheap. I spent 1500 euros for this and all is sharp, there is space, alignement seems not good

If you're not completely happy then send it back for a full refund.

I would have liked the same, but with not space, no sharp edges as it should have been... They can't fix it ? I think it will take a long time in the current state and nothing tells me that it will necessarily be better...

Unfortunately nobody on here will be able to help you. You need to call PCS and discuss your dissatisfaction with them.

Try the live chat on the site, and link them the photos. I think they will do their best.

I can't speak to the 15" Defiance, but I received my 17" Defiance a week ago and the case screws were a little loose. I tightened them up and it has a very solid feel now. I don't see any gap around the case at all. One the the radiators in the back is a little higher than the other, which is odd but not to the extent of your pictures. I haven't notice it affecting temperatures at all, as the vent is still very open.

I made a RMA. If they return me the laptop with the "reparation", do I lose the 14 days period to reclam a refund ?

Nobody on here will be able to tell you definitively because we don't work for PCS. To be certain you need to give them a call.

Personally, I would expect that if the problem is not fixed you should still have the right to return it.

I send an email to the french customer service and they told me that I can only refund within the initial 14 days even if i ask for a reparation. I will ask the english customer service to be sure

It's illegal, within the first 3 months, a refund for malfunction/broken/repair is allowed according to EU warranty rules

If PCS France really doesn't want to agree to local warranties, contact your customer association in France (60 millions de consommateurs for example), they will do the necessary for a strict respect of EU/France warranties by PCS France.
We can continue this thread in French on the French forums if you want.

Well, welcome back. I did send the computer back and asked for a refund. I was enthusiastic about this computer, I'm really disappointed. I don't understand how a person could control the quality and say that it was ok, that they could send me the computer. We're talking about more than 1500 euros, it's unacceptable to send a chassis with spaces everywhere at this price. Of course, I'm not making a generalization, most people are very happy with their PCs. By the way, they admitted in the RMA that the chassis was defective and that they were going to repair it. From there, the problems would probably have been fixed (or not). Anyway, I preferred to take something else for course/work/gaming.
