Defiance III 15.6" for gaming

A cooling tray makes a worthwhile difference and is well worth the money but if you have a 17.3" machine I would try to have a look at some in shops before ordering anything. There are a few that claim to be big enough for 17.3" but it is quite an exaggeration, I have a Zalman (not sure which model and it is not here at the moment) which is supposed to be OK with 17.3" but my spare machine, a 15.6" Optimus, almost hangs over the sides and there is no way it would be any good for my Octane, which is similar dimensions to the Defiance.

I've used a cooling tray (Notepal A200) with an older model Optimus and it shaved ~5 degrees off vs just being on a flat desk during gaming load. The fans were noticeably quieter under heavy and light loads.

So it certainly can help.
