I just wanted to post something so you are not the only one on this thread
Btw I don't like the game.

There's no such thing as 'not liking Dark Souls'. You either love it, or you aren't any good at it yet and gave up too early... ;)

Not strictly PC per say but anyone played this on a console yet? It's epic... yet looks ugly as sin... hopefully my 680m should spice it up a bit on PC when it comes out.

Pretty stoked for this game. Just hope the graphics are better than the console versions after all that debacle with the downgrade in graphics from the E3 demo to the actual game.
Completed Demon Souls and played Dark souls numerous times. Think I was on NG+4 when I stopped playing...

Stupid question but is there anything important that happens in the first one that i need to know for the second?

Is there even a story?

The story in the first one is pretty obscure and is the same in this one. In other words there is an overall plot but you can completely ignore it as long as you know to kill everything and move on. To really find out about the story you would need to exhaust all dialogue options with npcs and read item descriptions. even then you need to piece together what has happened.
But to answer your question, no there isn't anything significant that you need to know from DS to play DS2. Im split on recommending the original Dark Souls on the pc as the port is absolutely terrible (but is fixed via some mods I believe) but the game itself is very good.

TL-DR - No there isnt anything you need to know from the first to play the second. :)

Awesome, thanks, i think im going to go for it, see your CDkey link still has it at £20.

The think that is putting me of is the Games for Windows Live bit is probibly dead so i feel i might be missing out on some of the online stuff.

I'll wait for the second.

Ohh yeah, I forgot about the GFWL as well. That alone is enough to put me off on the pc version. £20 is an amazing price for Dark Souls 2. I guarantee you will get your moneys worth if you get into it :)
