Its a nice M.2 drive, not the fastest, but M.2's are very very fast anyway and you arent going to notice much difference between them in general use, maybe save a second or two in heavy games when loading.

Its the OS that really draws the most from having a really fast drive, One of the corsair ones would make an excellent games drive, but I would doubt you would tell any real difference between that and the PCS own brand 1TB.

• I've put done RGB led strips with the build for £10 and was wondering if they themselves would put the led strips inside the build and i'd get the remote with it right?
• would three LL120 fans would be good enough right? and i could always get more in the future

I will get Windows 10 when i do receive i just didn't wanna pay around £80 extra when i can get it cheaper

The led strips makes sense thanks!

The PC will be used for gaming and uni work, i take a graphics design course but i do have a macbook for my uni work anyways
My monitor atm will not be good enough for pc but i will upgrade to a much better monitor when i get the money, and i don't want to lower any of the specs just because of my monitor, I'd rather get a new monitor later than upgrade the pc later.
i currently have a Asus with 75hz, 1080p :

The £50 extra to get the 5600X is a monumental difference. Drop the 256gb m.2 if needs be, but 5600X absolutely demolishes the 3600X by a significant amount.

The pcs drive is still extremely fast. The core parts of the build, when working out suitability are CPU and GPU. Sacrificing the CPU for a better SSD (which is a luxury) leaves you with a worse build and i would take a 5600X with a pcs drive, over a 3600X with a 970 absolutely every day of the week.

thanks! I reckon i'll take ur advice, since i have a b550 motherboard i can always get another m.2 drive later on.
I'll also get rid of the LED strips -£10
so it'll be 1,377k total.

Indeed, a second m.2 is extremely easy to install at a later date and occasionally they have incredible deals on them.

I was thinking of going for a different m.2 sdd drive: 1TB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3500MB/sR | 2500MB/sW)
This is only £3 more expensive but has double the speed, should i go for this?

The 2TB one is absolutely fantastic, but the 1TB has average write endurance, which is the point of failure, the 500gb is even worse. I would be very tempted to say go for it, as it is a gen 3 and by the time it does fail in many year, gen 4 will be cheap as chips.

Previous versions of Intel m.2 drives had really poor write endurance. The 670p seems to have improved, but is still not up to the Samsung drives. The Intel m.2 does have almost double the endurance of the Corsair MP400 drives that are more expensive and often being recommended here. I don’t know if there any published endurance figures for the PCS equivalent. I don’t know if you will see much difference in real life, but I can’t really see a major issue going with the 670p. I would not have said the same for the earlier Intel drives.

I’d go intel personally. They have a 5 year warranty and unless you use really work your pc, i can’t see it failing any time soon and even once it does, they are not difficult or expensive to replace.
