It is much better, yes.

I think nobody suggested it before as it's £1280 and we may have been working to the £1000 budget :)

Perfect, I will purchase this laptop now :D thanks a lot, also quick question, can I get a bigger storage space for this laptop in future?

You could replace one of the two drives it comes with. TBH if you need more than the 1.5TB storage it ships with you should be looking at network or cloud storage.

Hey, I've purchased this laptop and I am using it right now and I've had it since Monday, so its been 4 days. I have noticed a problem with the laptop, every-time I am using the laptop, after a few hours lets say about 3-4 hours, the laptop starts making a loud noise and it just turns off the laptop completely and I end up losing files I did not save. This has happened to me twice now and I was editing a few things and lost all the work I've done. Also when I'm using after effects for the past 4 days, its eaten up about 250gb of C drive and I can't seem to clean up the laptop and i dont know where most of the storage went, and I've done everything to clean it up but still lost 250Gb. Lastly, when I am editing videos on after effects it lags a lot and crashes without the laptop charger plugged in, also the ae files are small too. But when I plug my laptop charger in, after effects starts to run smoothly without any lags or problems. Also is it bad if I keep my charger plugged in if its already fully charged, will this damage the battery on the laptop? Because the only way for me to use after effects is if I plug my charger in the whole time.

No, modern laptops are designed to work fine line this.

One explanation might be that the laptop will use different power plans on battery and plugged in, and that the reduced power plan for battery causes performance issues with demanding software. You could try changing the windows power plan used while on battery.

I suggest monitoring temperatures with something like HWinfo. One possible explanation is that the noise is the fans ramping up and the laptop having a thermal shutdown.

It is safe for the laptop but is not good for the battery. High temperature and high voltage are what kill Lithium batteries. I'd suggest enabling FlexiCharger (IIRC it's in the 2nd tab with "Advanced" in the name of one of the items) in the BIOS and set the max charge to as low as you're willing to go. This feature allows battery to stay within the safe storage voltage, keeping it 100% charged otherwise will cause it to lose as much as 15% capacity/year.

The downside is, of course, you leave that much battery capacity unused so you need to prepare for it e.g., by disabling FlexiCharger when you know you're going to use the laptop off main. I believe it does ignore the FlexiCharger setting and charge the battery to full when the laptop is suspended/off but it's a good idea to confirm that before relying on it.

This is a great feature, I personally set mine at 40-60% as I use mine as a desktop replacement.

the laptop starts making a loud noise and it just turns off the laptop completely and I end up losing files I did not save.
If the fan ramps up rapidly in a matter of seconds then it'd suggest a driver or hardware issue that caused the GPU to run at max frequency uncontrollably. The laptop would then shut off to protect itself from overheating. You can find out what's wrong by opening the memory dump in C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP using WinDbg or WhoCrash which will tell you which could have caused the issue.

Also when I'm using after effects for the past 4 days, its eaten up about 250gb of C drive and I can't seem to clean up the laptop and i dont know where most of the storage went, and I've done everything to clean it up but still lost 250Gb.
That could have been used by the Media Cache. You can find the location of the cache in the Preferences and set it to somewhere else. Otherwise some apps such as TreeSize Free will tell you what is consuming the most storage.

Lastly, when I am editing videos on after effects it lags a lot and crashes without the laptop charger plugged in, also the ae files are small too. But when I plug my laptop charger in, after effects starts to run smoothly without any lags or problems.
When off main the laptop's performance would be reduced as the battery cannot supply as much current, the slowness is normal. The crash isn't normal though which could suggest, again, a problem with either the graphics driver or the GPU.

Hi guys, I've taken your suggestions with the laptop issue but now I am having another problem and its been like this for weeks since I purchased the laptop. Everytime I start up the laptop after its been shut for like a day or so, the laptop completely shuts down and I try turn it on again and it shuts down again? I have to turn it on twice for it to start up, whats up with this issue? And I have tons of work that I am doing for my dissertation for university and I lost it all because the laptop completely shuts down and the battery hasn't run out. Most importantly the charger doesn't charge my laptop quicker as it did the first time anymore, it takes longer to charge and my battery on the laptop only lasts less than an hour. Is this normal? What shall I do because I spent a lot on this and I am not getting what I wanted :/

Does the laptop turn off when you power it on the first time even with the charger plugged in?. If it doesn't then it might be the battery (in which case PCS should be able to give you a replacement one promptly). Sudden power off is a symptom of the laptop not receiving sufficient current which I wouldn't expect to happen when it is plugged in.

The laptop turns off more than 3 times without the charger plugged in and it keeps turning off until I put my charger on even though my laptop is fully charged and then when I turn it on with the charger plugged in, the laptop will stay on for a while for about an hour and then shut down again? What do you suggest I do? Also how do I get a replacement battery? And the laptop I have doesn't have a battery replacement slot, it's built in :/

These are all symptoms of a failed battery. A Lithium-based battery when exposed to high temperature will experience increased internal resistance. This causes the battery to take less charge because the voltage is saturated sooner and deliver a smaller peak current which leads to sudden power off.

This is very normal if you leave it plugged in all the time and use the laptop in a hot environment, features such as FlexiCharger are available to mitigate this. I'd expect PCS to be able to replace it. If you're not willing to send back the laptop you should be able to do it yourself after taking off the back cover.
