I've had this PC for approximately 25ish days and have been using it nearly every day since then. I was using my PC yesterday (15th) afternoon and then turned it off. I then turned it on again about 6 hours later (later on in the evening) and only the top fans were running really fast and flashing red (once/twice). The CPU light was on the Motherboard and the Screen on the CPU Cooler was showing a Fan Symbol.

I got an error that said the CPU was overheating and I could press F1 to go to the BIOS and amend some settings. I googled this and a video said I can go to the BIOS and go to CPU Fan Cooler and press "Ignore" on it instead of having it on N/A.

I tried following this but when I got to the BIOS, my PC shut itself down. It said it was reaching 80 Degrees (believe it was Celsius - I'm in the UK). I THINK it shutdown itself because my iCUE settings had a fail-safe on it when I received my PC which was to emergency shutdown when it reached it a certain temp so I believe it was this.

I then tried turning my PC on again and it was pretty much shutting itself down straight away. I'm uncertain if this was just in my mind, but I went closer to the top of my PC and could smell burning but again, I'm unsure if my mind was playing games with me because I saw the temperature so high.

Does anyone have any recommendations or know what this is? I've got the Warranty but unsure if this is applicable?

I would strongly agree with @Martinr36, if it's overheated to that extent, you want PCS to check it over fully as damage may have happened to the CPU or motherboard (which you'd be fully covered for), it's possible the pump has failed on the cooler, or that there was some issue with applying the heatsink, but whatever the cause, you want them to check it over thoroughly.

Cooler has definitely failed, so you’ll need to contact PCS for an RMA. Normally I’d suggest getting PCS to send out a replacement cooler if you’re confident in replacing it yourself to avoid having to send the whole system in, but since you smelt burning, it’s prob best to send entire build in for inspection and testing as suggested above. Frustrating, but these things happen from time to time. I’m sure PCs support will put it right asap

When you say updating. Did you attempt a BIOS update? Or do you just mean Windows updates?

It seems unusual to get behaviour like this without the BIOS being reset, or there being an issue. If there's any way there was any burning then I would definitely get in touch with PCS for an RMA to have it looked at.

In the meantime, if you have a look inside the case for the CPU fan header (check the motherboard manual) ensure that there's something connected to it. If there is, it sounds like a pump/cooler issue.... if there isn't, then it's possible PCS haven't connected it to this header and will be the reason for the error. This would only make sense if the BIOS was reset somehow though.
