Contacting PC specialist tech support re: boot up issue

Hi all,

Unfortunately this issue has started again regarding booting my PC (the suggestions from some of the users in the thread had helped solve it earlier) https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/new-amd-ryzen-9-5950x-rtx-3080.86864/post-658654. So I have to keep turning the power switch off and on everytime, I want to turn the machine on (I'm hoping if done too often it does not mess up the PSU or cause other issues).
Does anyone know whats the best/quickest way to contact PC specialist tech support regarding this - via chat or phone or this email [email protected] ? I've heard/read from some other comments in the forum that it can take a while to get an agent to help out ? I have platinum warranty if that helps ?
Also, what do they normally do - ask for the kit to be sent to them to look at or is it something they can check by remote logging into the machine ?
I'm hoping its not a fault with the motherboard :C .

Thanks in advance

Phone is the best way, or if you go into your online account to "My returns / Request an RMA" you can sort one right there to send it back. I would call though as they may be able to sort something out over the phone.

Phonelines are busy so there will be a wait time. Tomorrow they're open from 9am to 5PM and it's a good time to try and grab them. I'd call early though.

Firstly they'll probably do a remote session and attempt to fix it that way. If that fails they'll ask you to send it back to them. If you've got platinum warranty, I believe you're even covered for postage, so you won't have to pay anything at all (aside from replacement packaging if you need it). All you need is the original packaging, if you haven't got it, you can order some from them which they'll send out to you.

But, you may be lucky and it may just be something simple like a BIOS update, but you need to do that with their approval anyway, so calling them is definitely the best place to start.

Also, sorry for the silly question - but regarding turning off the power switch on and off every time i need to switch on the PC - can that cause damage to any of the components or other issues (in which case, ill probably hold off using the PC till they check it) ?

No, it should be fine, I wouldn't be concerned. If you were doing it for the lifetime of the PC, that's one thing, but just until it gets sorted will be absolutely fine.

Thanks ! Also, do they normally contact you every year for an annual service check or is that something you/most members on here have to book in yourselves ?

For a normal PC, it's something you do yourself, no need to have PCS do anything, it's just a case of cleaning out dust inside the PC, keeping it clean.

Laptops are different beasts, they take yearly maintenance taking the cooling system apart and repasting, but that's not necessary on PC's.
