Computer for 3D Animation.

Hello,

Any help would be appreciated. I'm looking to build a computer for 3D animation and possible rendering for around £1200. My friend had provided me with a good setup made on another website, so I am looking to create something similar on here to purchase, but I have no idea what storage, motherboard etc would be best as there are different options on the pc specialist builder.

This is the build that seems to work, but if someone is able to help me with a similar build for 3d animation to that budget. My main plan is for character animations through Maya and Blender which would most likely have to be rendered out if I wanted to export as a video clip for portfolio purposes. I’m pretty new to this so any and all advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi mate,

This forum belongs to PCS who build and supply their own custom builds. We can't make comment on self builds or competitor builds unfortauntely

You might get some advice over on Toms Hardware that could help, they are an open forum

You're not going to get close to that spec for that budget unfortunately. Keep in mind that when pricing on US sites you don't take into account the taxes that are added. That particular list you have would be privvy to a 20% levvy in the UK, and would even have taxes added in the US depending on the state.

That would take you to be comparing systems around £1600+.

To have something properly worthwhile for animation would take a £2000 budget IMO. The 1660 just isn't going to have the grunt to do much for you.
