Okay, so to start with a bit of a preface; i am completely, and i mean completely new to all of this and i hope i've posted in the correct place. When i read all of this technical jargon i feel like it's another language i'm not understanding and over the last few hours of reading guides, feeling my blood pressure rise to immeasurable levels i feel i'm still no better than when i had started. You may ask "Then why come here? Buy a pre-made and save yourself the hassle!" However, having bought a custom laptop from PCs five years or so ago, which has served me immensely well with little to no issue compared to my experiences in the past buying from companys that shall remain unamed; i would like to continue my custom here. The problem is as i stated, with more living space now i am looking to make the transition from a laptop to a desktop PC, and my god, it's a whole new world of confusion, i feel like a five year old being asked to learn another language and study for a masters at the same time when it comes to making sure things sync up and work together.
The 'build' (if you can call it that) that i am posting here is the very barebones makings of my endevours, and it doesn't add up to much. Many of the options i have selected are based on a mish-mash of other peoples forum posts, the how-to guide and, frankly... i need some help.
Requirements/needs:
Price:- £1700-2200ish not set in stone.
1440p gaming.
useage: Mid-High end gaming (no 4k no VR no flightsim/some photoshop work. so maybe it's not high end to what others may consider high-end)
Typically play RTS (so lot's of caclulations going on), Open world (Fallout/Gta) stuff on high settings.
Suggestion for a monitor that will be compatible with my needs
Suggestion for a case that is compatible with my needs (a lot of the ones suggested in the guide i can't even find!)
I will post my barebones 'build' here, it is completely in the early stages and purely as a means of having something to put down in this post, alongside my thoughts and some side-notes. It's honestly embarassing, but i assure you i've tried my best at this, and i have difficulty processing all of this. Looking for something somewhat future proof (i've survived perfectly happy with a high-end (well it was back then) laptop for 5 years, no upgrades obviously but i would like something beefy enough to ensure i can play things in the future with no hassle - i won't be looking to upgrade the graphics card ridiculously often, Please go easy on me! (think PC building for dummies, i'll probably require the home instillation) and i'm eternally grateful for any help or advice given. I am also aware that with the things i have currently selected, it may well go over budget when the case/monitor is taken into account.

Case
COOLERMASTER SILENCIO S600 QUIET MID TOWER CASE --- I literally chose this case as a place-holder because previous cases came up with a warning in regards to "Please note that the motherboard you have selected does not support USB-C. Warning when i proceeded in order to post the specs, it is in no way set in stone, nor do i even know what i would require when it comes to this, i haven't purchased a case in my life.
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12 Core CPU (3.7GHz-4.8GHz/70MB CACHE/AM4) Guide claimed AMD seems to be better than Intel for what i require, i'm sure you guys know more than i do about this. Would the i9 12900k be better? I'd like to ensure i have enough to meet any future needs that may arise. For the record my old Laptop processor was: Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-6700 (3.4GHz) 8MB Cache
Motherboard
ASUS® STRIX B550-F GAMING (DDR4, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) - ARGB Ready! Motherboard options seemed limited when i attempted (if we can call it that) to build something similar with an Intel processor, but the guide claimed this one went well with the one i had selected, again - i assume you'll all be more knowledgeable than i am when it comes to this.
