Hello, I recently moved from Ireland to Sweden and I brought my pc with me. Upon opening the pc everything was fine apart my lan connection didn't work. Before I used to constantly get issues with my ethernet intel driver in the control panel. Usually I knew this because of a yellow triangle appearing in the control panel. This time everything is running perfectly. Lan cable is brand new I got yesterday. I tried restarting the modem and left it off for 10 mins before turning back on but the issue remained the same.

Im not sure if this is something to do with it but we have the main wifi box in the living room, and the fiber connection in which it gives fiber internet to any selected room in the house through the wall (where my lan cable is connected) . Im not sure what to do..

Hiya, is this a pcspecialist system? Can you post your full specs from the order page?

I also tried to connect the lan cable to this device, (Deko?) and it works but if I try to connect it to the wall it does not work. Would you know why that is?

What anti virus are you using?

The easiest way around it is while it's connected via ethernet, go into device manager and delete the sifi adapter, then reboot and run optional updates and install.

Apologies, I was getting this thread mixed up with another.

So it works through the Deko, is the Deko cabled into the router? If so, which port? Try the pc plugged directly into that same port, does it work?

Could you post a screenshot of your network adapters page?

the deko is just plugged into the power supply. (I’m not entirely sure how this works I just moved in here and that’s what’s at the house) I also factory reset my pc so I believe the only antivirus there is, is the firewall antivirus.

Im assuming something called a gateway? is missing when the lan cable is plugged in directly to the wall. I believe thats why the lan actually works only with that little deko box

Oh, ok, it's likely just the drivers aren't installed as they'll be wiped from a system reset.

Until you've run all optional updates and windows updates, the pc isn't configured.

You'd need to connect direct to the router to install all optional updates and windows updates.

The Deco is a mesh wifi, so if the ethernet works when plugged into the Deco, it means that unit is connected to another Deco elsewhere in house over wifi, and that second Deco is connected to the router/modem that supplies internet. It could well be that the ethernet point on the wall is not actually live.

Is there a way to see if it is live. We also know that when we tried to connect a ps4 and apple tv to the wall it was also not working other than wifi. The only thing working that is connected to the wall is the main modem (deco?)

I take it you've plugged the other end of the wall cables to the router? Without that connection plugged into the router, they're not going to work.

In your photo of the deco, is the Ethernet cable that is visible connect to it, connected to your PC at the other end? If it is, then the Deco is not connected to the wall Ethernet socket, and the house has a mesh wifi in place. The wall ethernet socket is not connected to anything I suspect.

Yes that lan cable is connected to my pc. Which works fine. The fiber modem? Is connected to the switch, and the switch is connected to the socket number 5 which is the socket in the room for the pc (which doesn’t work)

Just connect to the Deco, don't go messing with the rest of the network setup without consulting with the home owner first
