One main thing, the gigabyte only has 2 on board USB headers, so you can only attach 2 devices.

If you've got a corsair cooler and AX200 wifi card, that's 2 gone and you've got none left for the case USB's.

It's also significantly worse VRM capabilities. It wouldn't be suitable for the 5900x which requires much tighter voltage regulation to maintain boost clocks, so you'd likely see limited boosts.
A more reasoned and scientific answer than mine 😜

Okay, I've made some changes....

If I can ask PCS to send me the 3070ti when it arrives, then I'll go with the below. I have a 2060s I can put in myself, until the 3070ti comes in stock. If they can't, I'll go with the 2070s and save some cash!

How's it looking? @AgentCooper @CMP01 @Martinr36

Looking pretty good, only a couple of changes I’d suggest.

Corsair coolers already come with high quality paste so the MX-4 isn’t necessary. The pricey wireless card isn’t worth it, the AX200 is much cheaper and just as good in my opinion. It’d be a great move to go for a 3070, it’s the premium card for 1080p gaming. It’d also be worth considering getting your monitor from elsewhere, there’s more choice and much better options out there. If you’d like any monitor advice, let us know. The storage configuration seems a little odd to me, but everyone’s needs are different when it comes to that side of things.

Drive-wise, this might be a better option. Just have the OS and programs on the 500GB M.2 and then use the second 2TB for your day to day business. The difference in read/write speeds between those drives and a standard SSD are unreal!

1st Storage Drive
2TB Samsung 870 QVO 2.5" SSD, SATA 6Gb/s (up to 560MB/sR | 530MB/sW)
1st Storage Drive
4TB SEAGATE IRONWOLF PRO 3.5", 7200 RPM 128MB CACHE
1st M.2 SSD Drive
500GB SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 6900MB/R, 5000MB/W)
1st M.2 SSD Drive
2TB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3500MB/sR | 2700MB/sW)

The build is taking shape nicely 🙂

This. All of it.

I'd also add maybe swapping one of those QVO's for another m.2 (970 Plus maybe) for the spare m.2 slot, might as well make use of it and it's speed. As for odd storage configs, have you seen mine? It works for me though, for now (still, should've gone 2Tb for that second 980 pro... and maybe 1Tb for the 870... Argh! a WiP then, more money needed...)

Regarding the monitor, I am locked in - for two reasons:

The range of 27+ 1440p/144hz screens is low on site
I am financing (approved) the build, whilst I await some bits going on IRL

If I can get the 3070ti shipped, I'll 100% go for it.

I like the shout on the second m.2 slot/config.

I emailed PCS earlier with the new quote, see if I can get it all approved before the build starts - as according to my account, it's not hit the bench yet.

I wonder if I'll be eligible for the Resi Village promotion on each of the supported drives?
