Build Advice Please

Hello, and thanks for reading.

I would really some advice on a desktop build. I prefer Intel/Nvidia and would be doing mainly gaming and video recording/editing. Im happy to spend up to £2500, possibly more if need be. Ideally, I want to be able to game at 4k with high and consistent fps. Below are the specs of my current PC:

I7 4790
Z-97a
980Ti
16 gigs
Win 10
3 screens at 1920/1080

I plan to give this to my kids and treat myself for my 40th. I just don't really know where to begin when customizing options on the main PCS page. I had been eyeing the 9700k and 9900k along with a 2080ti and an SSD. That's as far as my brain will take me =) I'd really appreciate some guidance and advice from here.

Thank you

Do you have a monitor already purchased, or even in mind? What budget have you set aside for the monitor, or is this included in the £2500?

Have you looked at ultrawide? In my eyes it's far nicer than what 4k is.

I've got a 4k screen all good to go. It's just the PC itself that im looking to spend on. I always thought 4k was the grandaddy of them all, I'll have to check that out now.

4k is higher resolution than ultrawide., ultrawide is just 2 1440p monitors basically side by side with no bezel. It's awesome for immersion.

Which 4k monitor did you buy? Do you know the model number?

Just working on a build just now.

Thanks for that Scott.

So I just got home from work and looked out the boxed and 4k screen, which is actually a 144hz 1080p screen =(

What 4k screen would you recommend to add to that machine? or the ultrawide? I have a feeling this would take me over the 3k mark?

This is an MSI Ultrawide and comes within your budget, it's insanely good value, and only come on the market quite recently, I would order fast as I think they'll run out of stocks quite quick, it's just bonkers value. Normally you can't get anything close to this under £600 but this is £450

Make sure you select the 3440 x 1440p one at £448, it may default to one of the other models

As above... that's exactly what I would go with. That's easily a £600 screen.
