Broken keyboard - Proteus Series: 15.6"

Hey guys,

I bought a laptop from pcspecialist four years ago and I experience some issues with the keyboard (space key doesn't work for half a year now, but I rebinded space key to windows key and it was ok, but now few more keys like F, K, U, L sometimes do not respond - all at the same time - so it's not about the keyboard being dirty I think) and I am almost sure it broke when my laptop fell from around.... desk hight half a year ago (it didn't really fell, don't ask).

The laptop I bought is Proteus Series: 15.6" Matte Full HD LED Widescreen (1920x1080) - other specs insignificant I suppose.

So I was wondering if it's possible to get a new keyboard somehow or what could I do with this issue.

Thanks!
David

Replacement keyboards are usually available. Google your model code (on the label on the bottom) and replacement keyboard. Generally they're not terribly expensive.

It's also worth phoning PCS to see whether they can source one for you. You might want to ask them for instructions on opening the laptop up - they often seemed to be held together by magic. :D

As fair as I am aware all Proteus laptop's keyboards are built into the top case, so it would need a new top case.
