Booting up via eSATA

Okay all,

Got a Voyager a couple of weeks ago, Linux 11.10 installed. Great machine, love it.

One issue though....for work purposes, I need MS Office. I've got a seperate harddrive with both Windows7 and Office 2010 already installed. It's really for the occasional work from home (1-2 days every fortnight) and I don't really want to reinstall Window7 and Office 2010 on the currently installed HDD.

I've swapped the two drives and both work wonderfully when put into the SATA slot internally. I have thought about getting the DVD slot replaced by a caddy, but opening the computer up...it's a bit of a job and not really worthwhile for the amount of time that I work from home.

However, I would like to boot up via eSATA. The drive does get recognised, but there doesn't seem to be an option in the boot up sequence to boot up via eSATA. I've searched the net, but can only find that perhaps the BIOS doesn't support booting up via eSATA, in which case....bad luck for me.... (BTW, I've also tried booting up via USB...so far no luck!)

Is there anything I'm overlooking?

do you have an OS installed on the eSATA drive, is that the windows drive?

have a look in the BIOS if you havent already

Yes, the seperate eSATA HDD drive has Windows7 as OS. BIOS sees the drive, but doesn't appear to give the option to boot from it...:(

Hope this works. Here are the screenshots of the BIOS.
SATA Port 1 is the 'usual' HDD
SATA Port 2 is the DVD
SATA Port 0 is the eSATA drive

As you can see in the Boot sequence, the SATA Port 0 isn't even in there!
