Battlefield Hardline

So who got into the beta? I did and I'm downloading it now. From gameplay videos it looks like a more casual version of bf4 with a grappling hook (super cool for snipers like me :D ) and with new maps, gamemodes, guns etc.

I managed to get into the beta, but I'm away with work and so can't play :(

Back Saturday so will give it a whirl before the Italy game. Anyone know how long the beta is open for?

I had a little go on BH last night, its not bad but tbh it seems that it probably could just have been a DLC for bf4 IMO, we'll see :)

I tried it last night also and found it to be disappointing. The map seemed way to quiet and didn't have that great atmosphere of battlefield 3 and 4. It seemed a lot like Garry's Mod in that the maps may have decent textures but there isn't enough different objects, there are a few cars trickled around but this is a city during the day? Shouldn't it be full of cars? Shouldn't there be something to do with hostages as well?

Hopefully it was just that map, it just seemed like a waste of 80% of the map where nothing was happening.

I was so excited for hardline - just replayed it for a bit and it is boring in my opinion, its the same stuff as bf3 / 4 with different game modes and guns. would pay £30 for the game and dlc but that's it.
feel rather disappointed and let down. anyone else feel the same way or does anyone like it and is thinking of buying it? bit gutted as I don't know if any of my mates are going to play it either.

Imo, EA/DICE have turned BF into Cod, the same game every year, with different skins, weapons and game modes... but it is pretty much the same as the last one, tedious multiplayer games.

Yeh at E3 this looked awesome because it had a different twist on battlefield, but it doesn't really have that much of a twist, just the objective is money now. Even though its cops and robbers both are armed like the US army whereas in a more realistic situation both sides would be more limited. I mean seriously how the hell would the robbers get some brand new choppers?

I've tried the beta and enjoyed it but have to admit my first thought was "over powered much!?!?" The weapons and explosions are way OTT for the situations. If they toned it down a little it could still be good but still not worth the asking price.

If there's one series I don't like it's CoD (or Call of Campers as most call it) and this feels a little like that but with Battlefields nice destruction thrown in. Not sure if I am liking or disliking at the moment.

I get what you mean, it's like a more casual bf4. The problem I have is the armoured vehicles with guns on top are so overpowered. I would understand if an rpg took off 50% health or something, but it does less than 30%, which means every single one of my rgps would have to hit if I wanted to kill it!

I will probably buy it but from a CD key site for £25 or something. It seems good, but I can't really tell right now as there's only 1 map and 2 game modes. The gameplay seems fun, but they need to balance the vehicles and add a couple more maps to give us an idea of what it'll be like. As Wozza said, the map is pretty empty in most places. The action only happens in two or three places depending what game mode you're playing, but I'm not sure if that's down to the map or the gamemodes or what.

I'm certainly not sold on BF:H -- as others have said above the vehicles feel over-armed and shift balance, likewise the available armoury doesn't seem to fit with the game. It won't happen (there is an interview around saying so) but it would be good to make this more asymmetrical - cops only have access to certain weapons (think 'official') but more vehicles, while the criminals have a wider choice of arms (i.e. black market sourced) and a slower respawn. Make the two sides different and distinct with pros and cons on either side. While they are at it, there should be no reason why there are not female characters in-game -- I can see why not in BF3 / 4, but police recruit female offices and who said it is only men who steal!

I may play a little more, but really need to see more maps and game modes to get a feel. At this time it is very unlikely I'll buy, especially at the £50 price point EA are selling at.

Played a couple of games of the beta and it was okay but it was in windowed mode. Turned it to fullscreen and ever since then my laptop completely locks up and I have to hard shutdown. In the limited experience I had with it it seems like a fun game but if you have Counter Strike: Global Offensive then save your money. Last battlefield game I played was 3 on the Xbox and what I liked most about the series was the huge maps, the destruction was just a bonus (was more important in the Bad Company games). BF:H just seems like a blend between CoD and CS.
