It has been confirmed that the next instalment in the Battlefield franchise will be a cops vs robbers game and will be called 'Battlefield Hardline'. Full reveal at E3...

Not sure about this... It is a different take on things and map-wise could resemble more of the BF3 / BF4 city maps (Seine Crossing, Metro, Dawn Breaker, Shanghai, etc.) than the rural ones. Could be a lot of fun...

Looks kind of like they've been forced to release the teaser site. Just this morning there was nothing official. Its ashame that everything is leaked months before release these days. Takes the fun out of it all I think.

Just seen some leaked Beta footage -- looks exactly like BF4 but with different skins and police cars and bikes instead of tanks. And I mean *exactly*, the same deployment screen, same colour pallet, same minimap, etc. Aside from the police model skins, there was an option to buy different equipment, probably like CS:GO.

Will watch with interest -- could be fun but may not be different enough from BF4 to warrant the purchase. Will definitely give the beta a go, though.

Maybe as it is still Alpha, a lot of the stuff they just borrow from their latest game to fill in. You'd think even EA wouldn't be THAT stupid to...uhm...yeh we should wait for a beta :D

Wasn't the footage leaked just the other day of the beta not the alpha? Meaning that the game is nearing completion and all that is required is bug fixing?

But it will be interesting to see, I think a new direction could be quite cool for the game. Although I want Bad company 3.

I agree but I always get the new battlefield game on day of release along with premium and so I can justify spending £40 on both.

The original footage was 6 month old Alpha and was still revered to as 'Battlefield Omaha'. Latest leak looks like the beta - large detailed maps, no placeholder textures, etc. I expect there will be a September / October Beta and November release.

There are also rumours of a 'Battlefield Havana'... not sure if this is the same as Hardline / Omaha or something else!
