Hey there!

The battery of my Nova laptop is already dead, and it isn't that old, I bought it in April 2020. Does anyone know if I'm covered to get it fixed?
Or, would it be possible for me to walk to a pc store and get it fixed? Or is this a thing that it's better to keep un-repaired?
In just 5 days, there was a massive reduction of max capacity.
Look to my battery levels:

Battery warranties are only 6 months unfortunately as they're a consumable and very reliant on if their correctly used.

7.7Laptop Batteries come with a maximum 6 month warranty, regardless of which warranty option is purchased.

You can order a replacement through your online account in the Order Details / My spare parts section.

Just in case this is avoidable, how do you use the laptop? When it's plugged in, do you fully power it off and switch it off at the wall? Do you put it to sleep rather than fully shutting down? Or do you always use on battery?

It's a gaming laptop, the chord is always on.
It has a rtx 2070 super, it's basically a portable desktop, how could I use it without having «the brick» always connected? Even in the first months it wouldn't last more than 2 hours without being on juice...

That will cause issues and deteriorate the battery quickly I'm afraid. You need to turn the power supply off at the wall when it's not in use otherwise the battery constantly trickle charges which is a death knell for a Lithium Ion battery.

But are you fully shutting it down when you're not using it or putting it to sleep? Have you disabled hibernation? All these things will seriously be detrimental to battery longevity. Especially on a DTR.

Just to be clear, of course I turn off the power supply when I'm not using it.
I never put it to sleep, I turn it off.

Could you tell me step by step how to order the battery?

when you say you turn it off you haven't answered my questions, have you disabled hibernation because by default, shut down on a windows PC will actually hibernate and not shut down? If you haven't disabled hibernation, that will also have attributed to a quick failure as it would have been using battery the whole time you thought it was off.

When it is in hibernation you don't need to switch on the computer for it to be back on again, I would have noticed it...
I turn off the plug and the computer.

to replace the battery once ordered from pcs, turn the laptop off completely so no power is going through it, on the base of the laptop there is the battery compartment held in by two screws, top right or bottom left depending on which way the laptop is facing you. Unscrew the two screws, take out the old battery and put in the new battery and then put the two screws back in to keep it in place. the battery can be accessed without unscrewing the whole back case.

You're completely not understanding what's being said, but nevermind. I expect the same thing will happen with the replacement battery I'm afraid if you're not going to listen to how to care for a battery, but I've done what I could.

So you aslked if it was hibernation/sleep/off, I answered saying that is really off...but somehow I'm not understanding...okay...

Hey there,

This is just a follow up to the post I had created, I can't reply there because it was locked.

The battery is working fine again, so it was some kind of software issue. Sadly, I couldn't identify what was the problem behind it...
