Backup power supply needed for pc with CORSAIR 650W PSU

I'm turning the power switch off at the mains power socket.

When I first pushed the cable connecting the UPS to the computer power socket it buzzed once at windows start-up. But it hasn't repeated during other start-ups.

The computer power supply is now only buzzing during power cut testing.

Is it still buzzing when you cut the power?

Have you tried running a self test via PowerChute to check everything is OK?

Yes it passed the Self-Test.

Is the PC connected to the top (master) IEC outlet on the UPS?

Have you got another cable you can use to connect the PC to the UPS? (just to rule out the possibility of a faulty cable)

It is connected to the master socket (see pic)



I have another cable yeah, Ill test it tomorrow.

OK - if that doesn't help give the APC helpline a call and tell them about the buzzing and see what they say (print off or make a note of the info under the Technical Data section of PowerChute as it may be of use).

If it is any help my system is putting about double your loading on the battery (it is registering about 123 Watts) and buzzing is not noticeable when running on battery.
