f you're comfortable doing a repasting, you could also try that. Maybe it was not done properly by PCS? If you don't want to do it yourself and have confirmed that this is not normal behaviour, then sending it back is the only option unfortunately.
Well I havn´t tried repasting before, but I´ll probably have to at some point anyway. My main concerns are bending/damaging the heatsink, or leaving some old paste/ or stuff i would be cleaning with
Don´t know if you any any adivse if it comes to it?

It's really easy, just get a piece of kitchen paper with some isopropyl alcohol to clean off the old paste:

Then get some thermal grizzly to reapply:

We can talk you through it no problems and there are lots of youtube reviews.

So as far as I can tell on some videos, you can use a (credit)card to take away the worst of the paste before applying the cleaning solution. Also its a good idea to use the laptop ebfore doing it, so its easier to remove the heatsink. I can´t tell if this means just causally, putting it under load? Just dont want to burn my fingers when I remove the heatsink
I´ve already got some thermal paste (artic silver 5), and some cleaning solution. Is that surficent or becuase this is a powerfull cpu, should I get something bettter?

They both look fine for cleaning and pasting. Do use the cleaner on the CPU, just using a credit card won't be enough as it leaves grease behind which is why you need the cleaner / alcohol.

oh yeah, I just meant to take the worst of the paste, as to not use excessive amount of cleaning solution.
I´ll begin the procces now and ask here if im not sure of something

Yes or the other way, so long as they’re in an order.
Does this look clean enough to you? Just wanna make sure before applying the paste
Also there is some blue sticky stuff on the underside of the heatsink. You can just about see some on "the nova clean" pic (had to crop it as it was to big otherwise) Is that just make sure its sits tight or? Its not on, what seems to be the same model, I found on youtube

That’s a thermal pad for the gpu, it’s likely that would need replacing also, looks a bit battered

No, you’d need a thermal pad. Thermal grizzly do them on amazon
should I ;
1. remove ithe blue stuff now, when I dont have thermal grizzly
2. order some thermal grizzly, put thermal paste on the cpu and gpu now, Close the laptop up and run it
3. Order some thermal pad, Dont close the laptop, and wait until it arrives. Then remove the bluse stuff, apply thermal grizzly to where the blue stuff was, and apply the thermal paste to the cpu and gpu,
I´m sorry but im a bit confused of what to do atm. I would like to turn the laptop back on today

I would personally use a thermal pad exclusively for any gpu. I would order some and wait.

If you need to run it today, then leave your thermal pads as is... some thermal pad is better than no thermal pad. And I don't think you can use thermal paste instead of pads.

But then when you want to replace the pads, you would need to replace the paste again.

Okay and what does the pads do? How bad would it be if I leave it as it is?
would It be possible to link some? Just to make sure i´ll get the right stuff

They’re thermal pads, so they transmit the heat to the heatsink. If they’re compressed or ripped which that one looks to be then the gpu will overheat.

Just need to find the right size

Out of curiosity.... did you remove Bullguard? I didn't notice an update on that front.

For testing the pad re-applied should be OK but if you push it you may have varying performance with the temps. I think that's a chipset heatpad though, rather than the GPU core. It'll still impact performance though so definitely order up some new stuff. Be mindful of the thickness too as it's important to have a good conductivity.
