Its a little speaker.
The beeps you should hear during start up are made by it.

Personally I wouldnt.
The beeps have meaning and are a warning system.

If it offends that much, maybe make it less noticeable by putting some black heat shrink tubing around it & using double-sided tape to stick it to the motherboard somewhere.

This is a very good way of neatening it up. You can get heat shrink stuff from most places, it’s not expensive, something like this unless you can find a lesser quantity somewhere:

Rolson 61299 Heat Shrink Wrap Assortment - 127 Pieces https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001MJ0BIY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_BN2E78NE5WSE99VWPX8Y

Just put the sleeve over the speaker and the wiring then take a lighter and run it carefully over the heat shrink in sweeping motions until the sleeve shrinks over the innards, and voila, looks much better.

On the boat we used a lot of this stuff - there's a lot of wiring on a boat! I always used a hair dryer to shrink it, I think it's safer than a lighter. You never have naked flames inside a boat, not if you can avoid it anyway.

I just disconnected it from the MB first, sealed it up away from the PC, and plugged it back in afterwards...along with a bit of 3M tape to secure it to the MB.

Be careful what ratio of shrink wrap you buy, as most do a 2:1 ratio, and you'll need a piece large enough to go over either the speaker or the connector plug - and if it's too big you'll find it doesn't shrink enough to make a tight fit over the 2 small wires.

I had some 4:1 stuff from model-making days, so used about an 8-10mm wide piece which fitted over the plug (bit of a squeeze), but made the sleeve snug.
