You've got me thinking now. I've been checking out the War Z forums and it sounds pretty cool. Pretty much join a server, hunt for food and equipment, don't get killed by zombies or other players, don't trust anyone?
So why can't you kill zombies in Day Z? Is it just a lot harder?
Yeah, you only have fire-arms in Day Z and even the quietest of guns will awaken pretty much a horde to chase you down, on War Z there are melee weapons as well. Day Z also tends to have a serious amount of zombies everywhere, although in War Z there are some points with a mass of zombies, not to the scale of Day Z meaning you can shoot a zombie and only alert another 2 / 3. Like I said though, both games will attract different players so it's not a case of one is better than the other, just depends if you want pretty much full on realism, or only 2/3rds realism.
If you were to try Day Z and you don't already have ARMA II I'd personally wait till the standalone is out (although ARMA II is a decent game so if your into that kind of thing by all means get it)
