Anyone playing SWTOR?

Used to play on Shaltin Tunnels but cancelled my subscription just before it expired a few days ago, i hit 50 just before they changed the brackets (literally the day before, with 1 game in the mixed brackets) and since i've found that it just takes too long to get into warzones, this and the mess they've made of ilum means there is literally no pvp to be had once you hit 50. Bleh!

It's ok for high population servers and some of the normals, but low population servers like shaltin are definately languishing under the state of pvp queues so advise staying away from those servers till the pvp numbers resurge.

The leveling experience in swtor though is probably one of the best i've ever played, and the cinematic feel of the game is absolutely top notch so i still recommend trying it out for a couple of months, if only to see how a proper cinematic RPG looks and feels!

Have to agree with Tracker, the level 1-50 game is proving to be great (ok i've only got to 40). If you take your time and enjoy the ride it's very good. I can't comment about the level 50 situation, but knowing that it's never fleshed out or balanced at the start of an MMO I opted to take my time.

Do you guys think the initial cost + monthly fees is justified? Haven't got money to throw at the screen so trying to get an idea of what the game's like.

I JUST WANT GUILD WARS 2 TO COME OUT. Makes me dribble when I watch videos of it, especially the new PvP they have going.

Im going to buy the game and a game card (game time), saves me buying a subscription then and if I don't get on with it (which from what I'm reading is very unlikely) I don't have to unsubscribe or anything.

Also looking forward to guild wars 2! :D

Worth the money is far too subjective :)

To me, the initial "box"/dl and the sub are well worth the money. Will take me ages to play through each of the 8 stories, so even IF you believe people that say its just a SP game, thats still an absolutely MAHOOSIVE amount of SP goodness :D

I do not subscribe (teehee) to that notion however, and see both current and potential MMO goodness in TOR as well.

Best bet, buy the box, give it a go, you'll soon know whether you want to carry on or not, and if not, you've likely had a blast from 1-50 on a character and got your money's worth out of the box.

Yeh I've heard people say it's like playing a single player game, but obviously I've heard good and bad things about that game and I still really want to play!
Guess I'll be making my opinion when I get it, I love star wars too much to not give it a go.
Will play as republic first, seeing as everyone else wants to be sith (because of this I'm not going to choose a pvp realm hah)

Buy it, pick a class, play it like a singleplayer game if you want within the first 4 "free" weeks and you can get 1+ characters to max level and complete the class story.
I've got 2x 50 and plenty of alts between level 1-30 and I've not paid my first sub yet, still within the first 4 weeks.

Game is epic, grouping is epic, instances are epic, PvP is epic. Haven't tried raids, Game is epic and there's nothing stopping anyone from having a subscribed MMO to enjoy along side the F2P Guild Wars 2. I don't think GW2 will be all that good, the dynamic events people are fapping over is going to get old quick. Whether people want to admit it or not, we enjoy questing. Dynamic events is all new and fresh, yay, so was AoC's combat system that got old within the first 2 weeks and people wanted a normal MMO combat system back. Why change a mold that works. MMO community shout for change, when change comes they want their normal working system back.

The games only single player if you play it like that, Wow would be like a single player game if you played it alone as well. I've been playing one of my characters playing at the same time as a friend on skype and its brilliant tbh. My trooper who is higher level and I'm always playing with people for heroics etc, exactly the same as I used to in every other MMO. Not sure but it seems people who says it's like a single player game can't have played MMO's before (no insult intended)

It's not just the dynamic questing, is the fact it's a new Guild Wars, movement is more fluid and free, new concept on skills and player roles, new PvP which looks a lot more intense and fun to play, new visuals etc. It might not live up to the hype of the general public as has been the case with a lot of publicised games, but people have a warped perception of new game releases, thinking they'll be perfect and suit their needs 100%. If it's an improvement I'll consider it a success, but I know it will be people who have never played Guild Wars that will be the ones to complain. If game developers don't try new things then the game industry will never advance as well. Even though they plugged dynamic questing that's not even near the main reason I'll be buying it.

Pretty sure I'll be getting SWTOR, like you said I can play through the 4 weeks and by then I'll know if I want to pay. I like the idea of playing an mmo or even just a proper 3rd person rpg that isn't set in that era they are all set in. Looked up some reviews and there is a mixture, the majority of negative ones are from people who's expectations weren't met but I have no idea what to expect from it so should be a good experience all round. Plus I bet you can get a lot of hours out of it.

I've been playing SW:TOR since early release and am about to ding 50 on my second character, with a third on 29 and a fourth on 24.

We've seen all endgame raid content so far (not cleared it in nightmare mode yet, we're not that hardcore!) and I have to say so far I'm pretty impressed. Yes, there are quite a few bugs (especially in 16-man raiding, levelling was fairly painless) and the game needs a bit of balance and polish, but it's one of the smoothest mmo launches I've experienced.

They just need to work on UI customisation, and stop doing maintenance during EU day time and I'll be pretty happy. Subbed for another 6 months anyway then we'll see :)

You'll usually find me as Vindicta or on my alt Myrkul.

We are recruiting, but you'll need to be 21+ years old and be available on Monday/Wednesday/Thursday's from 7.45pm to 11.00pm (66% attendance preferred on average, so if you can make 2 of those reliably you're fine)
Required gear level for a raiding application is full T1/T2 (Tionese/Columi) or equivalently modded orange/pvp gear. We do help people gear up but we can't drag you along in greens and blues, sorry.

Ordered it, should be getting it within 1 business days :D

I was a little hesitant at first, but after a few pints the decision to buy it became a lot easier.

People are mentioning a free 4 weeks you get with the game - is this for both retail version (Amazon) and digital version (off swtor.com) or just the digital version?

I'm on sceptor of ragnos and loving it so far, lacks a bit in terms of end game content currently but then it has only been out 2 months.
Leveling is ace though, although I currently have 3 toons all around the same level and it does mean doing repeat quests, as the class quests arnt enough to level on alone.
