Anyone help with my BullGuard antivirus?

So i bought my laptop back in December with a year of BullGuard antivirus.
But i have just had a message saying my license expires tomorrow, i have messages PCspecialist but hoping someone could help me sooner as they will probably take a few days to get back to me.
was i meant to get a code of some sort when i bought the laptop or how does it work?

Best thing to do with bullguard is remove it from your machine and use windows defender which is free, a lot better than bullguard and causes no problems like bullguard does.

contact PCS and ask for a refund for bullguard

All sorts. I've personally debugged two BSODs that were likely down to Bullguard and several more where the issues disappeared after uninstalling Bullguard.

Windows Defender really is all you need, it's fully integrated into Windows, and it's free.

Uninstall Bullguard.

Are you certain you bought a full year? It wasnt a 3 month trial that has run out?
Is it also possible that you bought a year but theyve put the 3 month trial on (which is free anyway) and perhaps youve never started teh year subscription?

You should be able to look at your bulldog install and see what the account says about what type it is, if you never touched a year sub but have paid for it, I can see PCS giving you a refund (you never had the product).

thanks everyone for the replies.
have checked my bullguard and my order and yes i did buy the 1 year and havent used it, just the 3 month trial.
have emailed to ask for a refund, and will look into getting windows defender tomorrow.

When you uninstall bullguard, defender should kick in on a reboot

and if you need a bit of extra peace of mind then malwarebytes free edition complements windows defender.

So don't know if it's related or just a coincidence.. but i've had no problems with the wifi connection since getting the laptop. The day bullguard is uninstalled and I can barely get 3mbps and it's stuck on 0 regularly so my streaming is constantly stopping. Nothing has changed to do with my router etc

When did you last run windows update?
Is anything showing in device manager as needing attention?
Does it make any difference if you turn the router/modem and laptop all off and power back up?

Just removing bullguard shouldnt have that effect.
It might be worth manually removing the WiFi driver and reinstalling it.

Are you able to post your full specs? Should be able to look at your orders through your PCS account and then use the post to forum function to get a full list up.

TBH the only safe way to remove products like Bullguard is to clean install Windows from bootable media. It's likely that Bullguard didn't uninstall fully, as often happens with deeply invasive products like antimalware tools, and there are drivers or dlls hanging around that are compromising your WiFi.

Open a PowerShell session, enter the command Get-NetAdapterBinding -Name WiFi and post a screenshot of the output. In case your wireless adapter isn't called WiFi and this command generates an error, then enter the command Get-NetAdapterBinding and post a screenshot of the part of the output that relates to your WiFi card. That will show whether there is still a Bullguard client bound to your wireless card.
