I just got the new Age of Empires game takes a while to load on my PC the CPU is quite old a Intel i7 3820 [email protected] has a good SSD and card a EVGA 1080ti if you play a 4x4 game it all slows down even when on 1080, the monitor is a ASUS MG28UQ 4K at 60HZ very happy with it icant think of changing it for a long time.

The build has a 3080 card but they dont have the card yet i would go up to the 3080 ti if i have to. I only use the PC for games nothing else, something that will load the game faster than the PC i have i cant play Multiplayer 4x4 Age of Empires i take forever to load it up, spoils it for the other players, any tips would be great to hear if you have the time thank you.

I have created a better balanced build. I don’t believe you will get any benefit from a 3080. A 3070 is probably best for 4K 60Hz, but I can’t select that and have put in a 3060Ti as a placeholder. I haven’t much idea about cases, so someone else might care to comment.

If you've only got a 60 Hz 1080p monitor you're wasting your money with a 3080, your best bet is to get a 1440p system with a 3060Ti in it and use the money saved on a new monitor

I think it is 4K 60Hz. I put a 3060Ti in the above build, as I couldn’t select a 3070.

Many thanks for all that that I prefer to play in 4 K if possible is there any difference in having a higher refresh rate on a monitor when your nearly 70 and eyesight is not 20/20

I think poor eyesight will negate the benefits of resolution more than frame rate. A 3080 is overkill for 4K 60Hz as the monitor will be a bottleneck and you won’t use the power that you have paid for. It is better to spend the cash on other areas of the build to make sure it is well balanced and has longevity rather than waste it on something that will not be used.
