Any suggestions for this build?

Hey,
I'd like a pc to play games on steam mainly, such as euro truck sim, snowrunner, f1 22 etc.
I know this pc is up to spec for these games, and they should run smoothly, but I am right at the top of my budget. Is there anything that I could do to reduce the cost, no matter how little the reduction?

Here is the spec:

We love you Ukraine
I wouldn't look at buying anything until the 27th when AMD are releasing their next gen processors, plus a whole batch of other generational updates that aren't compatible with current gen stuff.

You'll get far more performance at the same price point.

Alright thank you, hopefully 30 series gpu prices will go down too :)

Hello,
I have configured this build to be future-proofed for about 5 or so years. I play games such as ETS2, FS22, BeamNG.Drive, Assetto Corsa and Minecraft. I am aware that these specs may be overkill, but I built a cheap pc last time and cut too many corners, so I'd rather not make the same mistakes again.

Is there any way to shave even £1 off the price of this build?

Thanks!

What display will you be using?

There's a few things I'd change. If you're only using the system for gaming, the 13400 would probably be a wiser choice than the 12600K as it's very close in performance for £60 less. I'd reconfigure the storage too, to get a 512GB boot drive, 1TB SSD and no hard drive. There's no point in a hard drive for gaming. I'd go for the FrostFlow 150 air cooler.

But it all depends on the display. If you have a 1080p display, there's not much point in the 3060 Ti and you could save hundreds there.

Alright, thanks for the feedback mate. I have a 1080p 75Hz monitor right now, but I am planning to go to 1440p 144Hz soon, so that was the logic behind the 3060ti. If i were to keep this 1080p display, what GPU would you recommend for that?

I'd go for the 1440p and 3060 Ti option! (Indeed, from my signature you'll see that's precisely what I have done.)

If you were going to stick with the 1080p 75Hz display for a while (and I wouldn't), then the Radeon 6600 would be the appropriate level of graphics to aim for. But it would be a vastly lesser experience.

The other option is to go with AMD's last gen, which would be a little slower but not a lot slower, and is really good value.

to be honest, for barely any more, i think the amendments you suggested to my original build make more sense, because that comes out to £1,361. I could be wrong though?

I make it a touch more for the equivalent build with Intel, because I'd also recommend upgrading the motherboard a tiny bit.

Honestly either would be a great choice. If you're going to be doing any kind of media production, the Intel option is in the lead. But for gaming, I doubt there's any significant difference.

thanks for the input, although I have a few questions.

Is the only difference between the 13400 and 13400F integrated graphics? If so, wouldn't I be better off going with the F, given its cheaper?
And same for the motherboard, is there a vast difference between the B660M and the B660?

Is the extra PSU power for extra headroom, or is it more significant?

Yes, just the integrated graphics. But they're a useful backup to have if your graphics card was ever to fail in some way. Personally I'd like the security it offers. But I can see why you'd opt for the cheaper one.

The M motherboard is micro-ATX, which means it's smaller and it also means in this case that it's less robust in terms of power delivery and cooling. For the 13400 it's probably ok, because it's not terribly power hungry, but it's not a board I'd want in my PC.

And for the PSU, it's more headroom, more efficiency, and crucially more capacity should you ever upgrade to a better graphics card (or indeed CPU) in the future. £20 difference now for much more flexibility and potential down the road, which should make your PC better value for money in the long term.

ah alright, thank you! I think i'll ditch the integrated graphics, i like to live life on the edge sometimes :ROFLMAO:. I shouldn't have really asked all of that because they're all the same mistakes i've made with my current system lol.
