I've removed the windows licence becasue I think I can transfer it from my existing (and 10y old) PCS build

I know what you are saying about the monitor & GPU power, but I'd prefer to be futureproof. I'm currently running it off an R9 270X, so I didn't see the need of going big Hz when I got it! Maybe in a few years.

The motherboard is the one I picked initially I think - was it a different one?

You could change the motherboard to the Wifi version and then drop the add-in card. It would always be my preference to have as little stuff connected, instead opting for on-board.

Thanks Scott - does the wifi motherboard also include bluetooth? I have plan to share mouse & keyboard with my work laptop due to the deskspace and wires everwhere. And I guess, does it have the same wifi performance (standards supported, antenna)?
All in favour of saving 2 quid, fewer things to fail, and more space for the air to circulate, but not at the cost of lousy connections!

I don't think it has bluetooth, as that would likely be advertised, but the bluetooth on the card uses an entire USB header. If you were to get a small bluetooth dongle it would only use one USB port (As opposed to the card taking up 2).

With work keyboard/mice, they are often set to only pair with the little dongle. It depends on the type of course.

TLDR; - I wouldn't sway the decision on the bluetooth on the card

BTW, I did a quick google there and apparently there are bluetooth drivers for the motherboard..... which suggests that it may in fact be missed out on the spec sheet. AX200 often has bluetooth.

I think maybe I'll think again about the need for BT and decide on that basis.

So, the ASUS site specficially lists Bluetooth in the specs for the B550M but doesn't for the B550 non-M...given PCS haven't listed it as an M variant, you'd conclude it's the non-M and so doesn't have Bluetooth

Best to drop them an email and ask if you want to be sure

Indeed... but as I said above, the ASUS site also has a Bluetooth driver for the B550 non-M.... and it's in the manual

There's no such a thing as GPU future proofing as you have to match a monitor with a GPU. You can futureproof with CPU and PSU.

Oh, btw, I'm going to try for the Wifi motherboard, and see if i can the BT working. Will update here when I know, so others can advise in future.
