An old man and his grandson final spec for his computer for his Uni Computer course

I just made a comment about how far we have come since I started computing and the following is the order we have placed for his laptop. It took a few weeks to go through every item and compare specs as well as read most of the forum comments on laptops but at the end of the day it was his choice and I think it's not too bad. This is not for gaming, purely coding, cyber work and other computer science projects.

Did you go for the dead pixel warranty? It can be a minor annoyance for some but devastating for others to get the dot of doom.

Did you go for the dead pixel warranty? It can be a minor annoyance for some but devastating for others to get the dot of doom.

Even the 30 day dead pixel is worth it, usually a dead pixel will be on delivery, it's quite rare one will fail during use (although not impossible).

As it works by default is that manufacturers specify a certain amount of dead pixels that is deemed acceptable, and as such no replacement is granted. PCS are usually quite good with regards to pixels, but it's worth covering yourself just in case.

Thanks for the tip, I do not know how I missed that one but have quickly amended order for a 30 day pixel warranty.
