Mostly playing Dayz, Counter Striker GO at the moment, would this run it on the highest settings? How would it cope with something more demanding like Battlefield. The CPU is my main concern, I'm looking at a unit on ebay with an i5, how does the AMD six-core compare?

I also have a few questions, do I need to upgrade the CPU cooler for gaming, would standard suffice?
How easy is it to install a copy of windows on a machine shipped with no OS?
And finally, is the 450W power supply enough.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
What is your budget? The 450w PSU will be fine for the spec you posted but I would suggest a cheaper case and the HD 7790. For gaming performance you could check benchmarks online for the games you are planning to play, there shouldn't be any significant difference in performance in BF between the i5 or FX-6300 with the same gpu.

Echoing what Keynes regarding the GPU, try to push the boat out a bit and go for the absolute best one you can. If you could stretch to the 7850 you'd be much better off.

Hi, my budget is about £500; I don't think I can stretch to the 7850 as that also requires a 600W power supply. I am considering the 7790 but the page states that it requires a 500W power supply, how would the 450W supply in the spec cope? Would it work at all and if so would it perform below maximum capacity?

Thanks again.

The configurator should give you a more accurate reading of your power requirements, if you put the HD 7790 on the spec you posted you don't get any warnings/advice to upgrade your PSU.

Ye, I didn't get any warnings I was just using the chart (Clicking the help button on the configurator), it says Minimum PSU requirement for the 7790 is 500W but again, no warnings to upgrade. I guess it should be fine, thank you.

Thanks, I'll stick with the 450W; My only concern now is the other 2 questions from OP, how easy is it to install windows on a clean machine and will the standard CPU cooler be fine for the Six-Core CPU (I did add another fan to case, maybe increased air flow will be fine for it)

Cheers, +rep to both of you :)

It's very easy to install windows, instructions are also given in the welcome booklet.
The standard AMD cooler is supplied with and designed for the AMD FX so you should be fine.

When you place your order you will get step by step instructions on how to perform a clean installation. The standard cpu cooler will be fine.

Installing Windows is pretty straight forward, boot from the CD (may need to set boot priority in BIOS) then literally follow the on-screen instructions. You'll have to install all of your device drivers too from the disks provided.

If you can afford to upgrade to the triple copper heatpipe then I would. Extra case fans will keep air flow better within the rig but it won't affect CPU temperatures anywhere near as much as an aftermarket cooler which is designed to keep CPU temps down.

EDIT: Didn't realise there was a page two.

Hey all, ordered the PC but one last question; The monitor i'm planning on using has a VGA input, does the computer have a socket for this as the card only states HDMI and DVI, would like to know if I need to order an adapter. Thanks.
