People generally get caught up in future proofing but it's not really a thing. If you want the longest possible build then either 12th gen Intel or the wait until the the next gen Ryzens which should provide the most longevity

No reason any of the builds above shouldn't last 5-7 years or more with some GPU upgrades

As for HDD and SSD's they are both now superseded by M.2 SSD's. It's the new standard it's both much much faster but also priced roughly around the same as normal SSD's

HDD's still have a function for general storage of the likes of photos or videos but anything that requires loading times the M.2 SSD's are far afar superior to anything out there at the minute

🤯 right I’m now in turmoil. I’ll contact pcs and get them to stop the build and be back on here later. Thanks very much buddy been a big help
No problem at all, if you take the quote number from one of the builds I've done they can just straight up change you across and in the past it wouldn't affect your position in the queue

If its only been ordered very recently, it's more than likely still just in the queue to be built anyway, but yes, sooner rather than later :)
And don't worry, many people seem to change their specs during the pre-production step :)

Hello mate I’ve had a look into a few things definitely going to get 1440p 144Hz monitor. Next I’m thinking with amd changing cpu socket on the next gen and it being a while off, I’m leaning towards 12th gen intel build you suggested. But wondering what the limiting component is and getting next cpu up the 12th gen ladder

Only because you seemed like you were less supportive of the intel.

If you are getting a 1440p 144Hz monitor, you can step back on the GPU, as the 3080 would be wasted. You would then have some budget to spend on the rest of the build, the monitor or to keep in your pocket.
