Advice on this build?

Hi, so this is my first PC. I've done a considerable amount of research before posting this here but I am in no way an expert. I have seen how important it is to get advice from some of the experts on this forum here before deciding to order a PC. This PC will be used mainly for gaming and possibly some video editing. I currently play on a 144hrz 27" Electriq monitor at 1080p, however; in the future, I do want to get a 240hrz monitor. As is probably quite obvious, this build is heavily RGB and Corsair focused. What can I say? Lights are cool. Any advice on the quality of this build would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

*NOTE* The iCUE 5000X case is currently out of stock so that is why the link for this build does not include it.

Looks like a very good build! All I would change is a larger m.2 which will both be for your windows and small games and a 1Tb SSD to use for larger games. If you need to save money 16Gb 3200MHz ram does fine. And get the silver warranty for an extra £5!

Heya! Some optimisations we could do here! Is there any particular reason you haven't gone Intel? They currently hold the performance crown and would work nicely for your uses. Also, the monitor you mention- what's the refresh rate of said monitor (60hz? 144hz?) and when do you plan to upgrade? Worth noting that for the average person, going for 240hz adds very little to the experience as the human eye normally can't see above about 120hz.

Thank you for the feedback. So would you suggest a 512GB M.2 and a 1TB SSD but to not have a HDD at all? Also I had checked the Silver warranty option but I must've forgot when saving the quote. Thank you.

There is no reason in particular that I didn't choose to go with Intel. My friend was helping me with the build of this PC and he had a Ryzen processor so I kind of just based it off that. The monitor that I currently play on is 144hrz and I don't plan to upgrade any time soon. This PC will definitely be a hard kick to the bank account but worth it in the end haha. Thank you for your feedback and I will take it on board :)

Sorry, just re-reading, I realised you mentioned it in your original post! One thing I didn't ask is about your budget, what are you looking to spend on this PC? That's probably the most important question!

My budget would probably be around £2000 to £2200 at the very most. What I have configured there is quite close to my budget already.

Here's a build I'd suggest along these lines:

Intel® Core™ i7 12-Core Processor i7-12700K (3.6GHz) 25MB Cache As good as it gets, really, for gaming right now
Motherboard

ASUS® TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS WIFI D4 (LGA1700, USB 3.2, PCIe 5.0) - ARGB Ready
Memory (RAM)
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB PRO DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB)

Ideally, you'd then want to look at getting a 1440p display to make the most of it! A 1080p display (even a 240Hz one) won't be able to make full use of a build like this.

Just thought I’d jump in, if the “(but if you were to get the 4000D case, change this to the H115i to fit better)” comment is implying the H115i will then be fit in the top, then you’ll want to go for The non-RGB RAM. The 280mm’s only fit in the top with Low Profile RAM which the Corsair RGB certainly isn’t 😂

Personally I’d stick to the H150i, yeah you get a bit less GPU space but man does it look awesome in a 4000D!

I thought the 4000-series cases could have RGB RAM and a top-mounted radiator, but I see I'm wrong on that! Yes, if you want the radiator on the top, it'd need to be the H100i. But I believe the 5000X makes all this fine anyway.

Hey, thank you so much for the feedback and advice. I think I might go for Intel now as you're not the first person to tell me that they are leading the market in terms of gaming right now. Also, there will be more 5000X cases coming in on the 24th this month so I might wait until then. May as well go the whole nine yards haha. Thanks again for the help.
