I’ll have a look at prices for a new cpu and gpu while keeping the psu.

In terms of swapping the pcs drive out for the WD drive would I have to repurchase windows for the WD drive as the pcs drive is my boot drive?

Just be careful with the GPU. As much as you can check the TDP there is a big difference nowadays with what that actually means. Transient spikes are a big issue in more modern gpus where they can draw double the TDP rating and cause instability/BSOD if the PSU isn't up to the task (the 450 simply isn't).

If you login to microsoft with your current system you will be able to link the key to your account (If you haven't already). When you switch out the drives simply login again and it will activate. No need to purchase another license.

No you "own" a windows licence and it can be moved. Plenty of online sources on updating boot drives. And if you really can't be asked. well there are legit ways to get microsoft keys without paying microsoft rrp.

edit, ho hum really should refreshed the page before posting :)

Question on a new monitor, if I grab a 1440p monitor for gaming how much will the FPS drop considering I only have a RX 570. Only playing DOTA and EAFC 25. Also if I keep 2 of my 1080p monitors (both 60hz) will it overwork the GPU? Could always unplug the other 2 monitors when playing games?

Thoughts on my idea, looking to upgrade my current rig now, I've decided to stay on the AM4 platform and max it out rather than upgrading to next gen. Will be upgrading my PSU, CPU and GPU and a 1440p monitor but maybe later on in the year. Lets say a rough budget of £800 give or take (Same as what I paid for my current rig) Looking at the 5700X3D for my CPU but not sure what GPU to pair it with. Cheers!
